There would be time for potentially embarrassing experimentation later. They were on a timer here, what with the impending sundown to race back to the base. If they hustled, they could make it back around sundown or maybe even before it if Peter's suggested shortcut was right. Miles peered at the path before nodding in agreement.
"Yeah I remember seeing that on the way back. The sooner we're there the sooner we're back right?" It might have gone better if the two weren't used to being so resilient. It wasn't often that Miles came across something he couldn't survive so he was maybe a bit more reckless with his own well-being than was wise in this situation. And Peter seemed to have a handle on himself too! They'd be fine.
