"They're called 'emojis'. No, I don't know what they are, either. Something after my time."

Kinner notices Jack - he recognizes the description he got from Cricket, and he comes over to introduce himself, strange emoji curse be damned. Kinner's not going to stop something like this get in the way of meeting a friend of a friend. He tries to ignore the floating symbols around them.

"Reckon I know who you are." He offers a hand. "You must be Jack Bondurant. The name's Joseph Kinner. I'm a friend of Cricket's. I'd say welcome, but I think the Nexus is doing it for me."

Sure enough, Kinner's head has a 👋 emoji floating over it. Several of them appear, as well as a few scattered 🦗. Well, he's Cricket's friend, and he's sure if Cricket was here he'd get a real kick out of this. As things are, Kinner can't help but smile a little. It's harmless, as far as Nexus unpredictability goes. As long as it doesn't last, hey, he can play along.
