Bryn has to hold herself back from asking questions while he drinks, repaying his tactful silence in kind. If she didn't get the feel he was gearing up to say more she might not manage to hold her tongue. She sips her drink a couple of times and that helps, even if they're smaller sips to allow her a spoonful of stew in between.
