baby guardian on a break

((This game was recced to me on rpanons and it seems to be a nice place to voicetest! This is a kinda spoilery character from the current season of Destiny 2 so I'm putting everything here under a cut! Please be warned there could be spoilers current and ongoing as well. If you want to discuss anything with me beforehand please don't hesitate to send me a PM as I realize this could get a little weird or complicated!))

"Spider's not going to be happy if he finds out I've just up and left his 'web'," a young man seated at an outside cafe mutters. He's got the hood of his cloak pulled up and over his face, trying very hard to sink into the shadow it casts on him. He seems to be addressing a tiny robot, Ghost, that's hovering nearby scanning this and that (plants, rocks, a chair, really anything that catches his optic).

"Well, Crow, from everything the pamphlets indicate there's a good chance he'll never know," the little robot chirps, tone upbeat, trying to improve Crow's dark mood, "Isn't that what you want? What we both want? To be away from him at least for a while?"

Crow stares at the pamphlets on the table and sweeps them to a pile on the side and takes a sip of coffee. He's purposely delaying his answer to the question. Of course that's what he wants. Who wouldn't want to be out from under the cruel and controlling thumb of one the system's most infamous crime syndicate bosses? But... there's a good reason he stays and plays lackey. The scuffs and slight bulge on his little friend's outer shell is always a very blatant reminder of the explosives that were planted within. The threat as always is if Crow flies too far from his nest... boom.

The hunter shudders.

"Glint, you know what I'm worried about," he sighs softly and looks away. The robot, Glint, floats nearer to his guardian.

"Your Light and my Life, trust me I know," Glint replies gently, "One day Crow. Just a small test. Twenty four hours. And if your absence is noted, even though I think when we go back it'll be the exact moment we left so it shouldn't... I know you've got enough rumors and tidbits withheld to tide him over this time."

Glint makes a good argument. He could cover his activities for a single day if need be. And the thought of an entire day without his Boss in his ear... very tempting.

"Fine," he concedes and small smile barely noticeable in the shadows of his cowl, but his Ghost certainly sees it.

"One day," he says, wonders aloud, "What do you do with a one day vacation anyways?"

This also does present a potentially unique opportunity to see about digging up any new information on the Wrathborn and the Cryptoliths. A Nexus between realities... perhaps someone out there has encountered something similar. Though the thought of relaxing for a few hours is certainly a temptation.
