Ben hoped that he'd become less anxious about it as time went on, but that didn't really happen. He's just shy, and he covers it with a small smile. If she had heard him talk, he'd probably have died of sheer embarrassment.

For his part Ben knows his birthdate, but it hasn't really been something he celebrated because he didn't think it was something to celebrate. He might bring it up next time it comes around. He's picked up a taste for baked goods.
