"I think the first time I slugged anyone... Goodness, I was a child. Some boy was making disparaging remarks about my mother and I took great offense to it. His nose was bloody, my hand hurt, and he never said an unkind word to me or my family ever again." She smiles softly recalling the memory. "That's what drew my father's attention to my potential."
