To the unspoken question, Minoru probably would have remarked that it was all part of the fun of having one. To the topic, at hand, though, he was more thoughtful.

Obedience and loyalty were defining characteristics where he came from as well. A shinobi born into a particular village is expected to obey their leader and protect their birth village. They all had their own duties and means of doing that, but it was part of their core identity. To break that allegiance with one's birth village was a crime punishable by death in almost all cases.
