The word Asgard hits Vars and he stares a moment, intently, and wondering what wolf this was before him. It could be some nameless wolf but there were others; Skoll, Hati, Geri, Freki, Garmr, and surely others lost in the oral traditions. If Vars was treading lightly before, now he was even more so, and the recognition was there in his gaze. He couldn't be sure which one but there was definitely a list in his mind that he was running through and trying to remember all the qualities of each wolf from mythology.
"Not certain which wolf." He figured better to admit that he didn't know. Honesty was usually a good thing and could clear up his own thoughts. "Wolf is loyalty, protection, willpower, fearlessness. Destruction, hunger, chaos, hunting. Two sides, like man."
Vars might follow Fenrir but he saw both aspects of the wolf. It was what he saw in himself, too. He was like a father or uncle to most but he had also killed people.
