On top of everything else, Adia is disappointed in herself for letting some bad news ruin her time at the party. It's what keeps her from crying on Blaze's shoulder and drawing unwanted attention to herself. She hopes that no one else sees her like this.

"The Nexus is a lot more complicated than I first thought." She smiles weakly, fighting through her bad feelings. "I was... maybe naively hoping that people felt more comfortable being honest in the Nexus. That no one had anything to gain by lying about themselves."
