Bones is a bit of a throwback in the sense that he actually does expect that old school respect that patients gave to those who practiced medicine once upon a time. That he often has to make quick decisions and doesn't always have time to bring everybody up to speed in the moment makes him feel justified in that stance.

Right or wrong, it's his way. There aren't many people with the gumption to try to get in his face and tell him he should change.

"Came in my uniform." He says with a half-hearted shrug. "Was worried I might get here late if I spent too much time fretting over an outfit."
