She pales at the mention of bombs. Of all the references to an atom, that one is difficult to move past. "Atoms are made of even smaller things, but the force that holds them together is one of the strongest in the universe." She says it quietly, with none of the enthusiasm of her earlier explanations. "That's why they make great bombs. When you break that bond, it releases a massive amount of energy. You can destroy an entire city with just one."

By contrast, the topic of first aid is downright pleasant. "Let's see... I can clean and bandage wounds, make splints and tourniquets, treat burns, perform CPR or abdominal thrusts if they're choking... I know what to do for hypothermia and heatstroke, in theory, but they've never come up in practice."
