She’s almost made it to the bonfire by the time Ghost finds her, but whether that’s her intended destination is anyone’s guess. She has to get away from the edge, away from those eyes, all those terrifying sad eyes —
“…Ghost?” She stops crawling and blinks up at him. If he can sense her vitals then she’s just shy of a panic attack, but his presence is slowly taking the edge off. She’s not alone. Her friend is here. He’s…
He’s wearing wings?
She looks down at herself, still dressed all in red, her wide-brimmed hat perched precariously on her head. She gently touches the surface of her messenger bag, traces the travel stickers that Hermione magicked onto it.
Whatever happened, they aren’t in the Nexus anymore.
“I’m okay,” she tells Ghost. It’s a big, fat lie, but at least her voice has stopped shaking. “There was an explosion, I think, at the party, and it sent us here. I tried to find an exit, but the ground just… ends, when you go out a little ways.” She wraps her arms around herself. “There’s a monster down there with lots of eyes. It… it looked at me and I panicked…”
Monster. It doesn’t feel like the right word. She feels like she should call it something else, but when she tries to think of the right term, her head hurts.
“What about you, are you all right?” She’s more stable this time when she gets to her feet. If Ghost is here, then that means that his Guardian can’t be far behind. “Where’s Blaze?”
