Adia quickly shakes her head. "No, I was thinking we could meet at the Crossroads Café or something and grab a coffee." If she's going to socialize with Josh, she'd rather it be somewhere quiet and relaxing. She'd prefer that, and she has a feeling that Josh would as well. "Is that okay?"
It's not okay with Caspar, but he manages to keep that to himself.
"Take care, Josh. I'll see you again soon." She waves goodbye to him, and when she thinks he's out of earshot, she looks up at Caspar and frowns. “Why were you glaring at him? He didn’t do anything.”
Caspar opens his mouth — then shuts it just as quickly. An honest answer would make him sound jealous. “There’s something off about him,” he says instead. “I don’t like him.”
“You don’t like any of my friends,” Adia retorts.
The mild rebuke is enough to make him look away guiltily. “The witch and her cat are okay…”
“Caspar.” Adia sighs and takes his hands. “Whatever has you feeling like this, just give him a chance, okay?”
