"I doubt you'd ever work for me."

It's the part of the statement Hazel is willing to dignify with a response. The other half brings color to her face and she waves it away quickly before she wastes too much time thinking about anything so foolish. "I'm hardly some starry eyed waif, Reynard."

But neither is she completely immune to the charm. If anything she's a bit flustered by it. Sputtering over her words before she can get anything coherent out.

"And I doubt I've enough coin in the world to bribe you into behaving ebtter this time of year. You'll do as is your nature and I mine." But the gift is a serious thing and Hazel slows her gliding across the ice to a stop.

"It's...Reynard this has never happened before. In the whole time I've been wandering and doing Autumn's work, I've never once come across a companion like me. I don't know what's expected of me, but I do know I"m grateful to have a kindred spirit to talk to. For it to be a Winter is just...more than I could have hoped for. So to honor the Lunar New year, the last big human holiday under your rule, I picked you out a few things in honor and offering to Winter. And to you. I thought it a respectful thing to do."
