1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.
Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.
The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?
((See the OOC post if you have any questions! Backtagging and threadhopping are fine. Come on in and have a blast :D ))

HAUNTED HOUSE
The stairs creak with every step and the lights get dimmer until by the time you've arrived at the landing of the next floor the warmth and cheer of the bakery below is but a distant memory. A single fluorescent light flickers on and off as it sways from the ceiling. Surely the pair that went ahead of you should be coming back this way, but no footsteps can be heard but your own.
Proceed on if you dare....

Admittedly, it's not the most authentic costume that you'll see at the Halloween party this year, but there's something about this person who is literally covered from head to toe that seems at home in a costume with full coverage. It's probably the comical padded muscles that really make it seem a bit on the cheesy side, but you know what? This young man got so excited to relive this part of his childhood that he couldn't help, but to buy it when he saw it at the costume store.
Miles seems to be content to look around the outside of the place. He might be secretly hoping for a friend, new or old, to travel with him into the scare zone. These things are always more fun with at least one other person.

There aren't many doors in the hallway, but a speaker hung above the stairwell landing is pumping out eerie music and sound that drowns out the festivities on the floor below. He's welcome to get a friend should he so choose. The hallway isn't so narrow that two people couldn't comfortably move.
Or he's welcome to press on alone.

To be honest, he'd meant to scope out the entire area and the people during the festivities, since he so liked to get the measure of places when he was a newcomer. But haunted houses draw him in and entertain him, and now here he is. He's going to pop up behind someone accidentally and scare the living daylights out of them, probably.

There are a few younger people gathered here. A Green Power Ranger perching on the top stair as he stares down the hallway, and a lovely young lady dressed head to toe in black admiring the decor as though there wasn't a thing wrong.
Looks like everyone's waiting for someone to go first, or for a friend.

She lingers at the entrance for a few moments, examining the decorations as best she can - and her costume means it looks like nothing so much as Morticia Addams sizing up a possible vacation home.
Then she lifts her hem just enough to avoid tripping on it and strolls down the hall, head held high.

There's a gentleman dressed as a skeleton and a younger man in a green power ranger costume also looking down the hallway. Waiting for a guide perhaps? Or uncertain of whether to press on before someone else goes first.

Still, Dinah can't bring herself to hang back at the entrance with the others. She slips past the Green Ranger and the skeleton man and ventures a bit further down the hallway, testing the knob of one of those doors.
If it's unlocked, she'll just take a quick peek inside...

The stairs creak as a few guests brave their ways up to peer into the hallway, though no one seems to be brave enough to be the first to go in. Perhaps they need a guide?

"Come on, people! This is just for fun. Let's go!"
Freddy goes up to the door on the left and twists the door knob.
