The Most Unconventional Of Therapies.
Looking for Azwel? Does he owe you ten bucks? Have you got questions you need to ask him, like What was the 1500s like, or Hey, what's up with the gauntlets? or even just WHY?! he can be found in any number of places.
Maybe he's at the Crossroads Cafe, having a bite to eat on the off chance he remembers food is a thing he needs to put in his face once in a while.
Maybe he's wandering the Plaza, checking out everyone's booths and shops.
Maybe he's out in a wide open space, training his pokemon. Or training on his own, creating a blue-and-red light show of weapons made of energy whirling through the air.
Maybe he's in the library, reading whatever caught his eye that day.
Something's in the air, some kind of anticipation, and Azwel has grown restless, so he's working that out of his system in his own unconventional manner. And while his energy is nearly indefatigable even he needs a rest now and again. That's why, eventually he's sat on one of the Plaza's many sofas at some point.
He has a thoughtful look on his face for several beats before he speaks:
"I must admit to some obliviousness, but I've noticed a general feeling of heightened emotion around this time of year, completely different to what I've seen before. Is it typical?
Also, does anyone else have a restless feeling, like something's on the horizon but you don't know what it is?"
((OOC: Feel free to hit any of the prompts for some non-question-related stuff if you like!))

"You do? What is it?"

"I'm going to a friend's world, to fight the Thing."

It's not often Azwel loses his words. He blinks a few times.
"I'd ask if you're sure that's wise, but I suspect you've already given it a lot of thought. Still, I can see the idea sits uneasily with you."
no subject
Kinner nods, not surprised by Azwel's reaction. He grabs a breadroll and takes a bite.
"I've been thinkin' about it. I won't lie and say that I'm not scared of facing the Thing, 'cause I am. It ate me alive and all. But I think it's something I've gotta do."

Azwel sits back, regarding Kinner. "Vengeance is not always a sin. Often it is worse to leave the perpetrator to his--or its--own devices than it is to put and end to him. Or it."
no subject
"You're right," Kinner says as he relaxes. "The Thing has to be stopped. It's a threat to all living things in any world where it exists."
no subject
He pauses, realising how his tone is coming across. Ordinarily he'd lead someone's train of thought in whatever direction suited him. But there was something so straightforward and unpretentious about Kinner that made him think twice about it--as though turning this man's thoughts would have wider implications.
"Just... be careful," he finds himself saying. Then he puts everything together:
"You don't expect to come back, do you?"
no subject
"Well, I want to come back, and I'm planning to."
Kinner shrugs, figuring that he can't hide his fear from Azwel very well. He's probably very obvious, and he's terrible at keeping secrets from the rest of his team.
"But I'm trying to prepare for the chance that I might not ever come back, you're right. There's a very real chance of that, thinking about how dangerous the Thing is. That's why I gave you the carving. So you'd have something of me."
no subject
"I don't have many people in my life whom I feel as though I could consider them a friend," he says. Usually people are too afraid of him, too angry at him, or two awestruck by him to fit at all into the category. "So you'd better come back."
no subject
"Where I was from, I had a few friends. Some of the men in my old platoon, the other guys back at Big Magnet, especially Bennings and Van Wall. I hope they're all right."
