GOATS

"Do you have children?"

The voice seemed to come before the lady, as if the question summoned her, rather than was actually spoken.

Small, demure in appearance, lovely in a way that quickly extended itself into the realm of disquieting. She seemed doll like, unliving and not quite made of flesh.

Little hands resting on a heavily pregnant belly, the woman draped in heavy Victorian dresses of stone grays, off whites and dull sky blues, with that porcelain skin and wild snow white hair, she'd almost look like she was trying to blend into the snow.

"If you do not, do you want them?"

Ah, so it was her speaking, the voice soft and sweet, if... off, in an odd way. A tone that crept up the spine and settled into the neck and base of the skull, like cold fingers pressed against the nape.

Normally questions like there would get Marie to pack up and go home. It's insensitive to ask about why someone doesn't want to have a child, as if being scolded by a parent. She frowns a bit, and despite her distaste for the conversation, she's compelled to stick around.

"I'm a selfish human being who mostly only cares about myself. The idea of pregnancy and child-raising is a burden, as I want to be free to do as I see fit." There's also the fact that she's not all human and being a parent would be impossible if she ever wanted it. "I'd rather support those who already have children instead of having my own."

There's an unusual amount of anger rising from Marie as she hears the woman literally chastise her for not having any children. Her fists curl up into fists, a distempered glare already pointed at Shub. Violence is not in good taste, so she'll settle for arguing instead.

"What gives you the right to judge another person's decisions? Some people are terrible parents and choose to not put their child through that type of life? Would you rather see the offspring suffer because of neglectful human actions?"

Ball's in your court now, Shub.

What. Birthing Gods? Just who is this woman? It's enough to get Marie to take small step backwards in fear. She's seen a God destroy her world, but she's also seen benevolent ones here in the Nexus. This 'woman' swings more towards the darker side, if she so willingly talks about giving life to gods.

"I'm sorry to have gotten into this type of dispute with you." Another step backwards. "A simple misunderstanding, no more or less. I'll leave you to your day in peace."

That stare. It's unearthly, not even comparable to the demons she once faced in the past. This isn't a good situation to be in and leaving seems even harder than before. Instead of trying to part ways, run in fear, she actually chooses to stay around in hopes that she can talk her way out of this conversation.

"What kind of gift? I'm not agreeing to anything. Not when I know that you transcend humanity itself. I don't wish to invoke your wrath either."
