Hot chocolate for sale

There is a small red Fox in the Nexus today, standing nearby a hot chocolate stand, and every now and then keeping his paws warm by an open fire he has going in a trashbin.

He has found some warmer clothes to wear, now that the Nexus is in full winter mode.

The snow is still curious to him.

"Fresh Hot Chocolate! Come and get it!"

"Seriously... how do you non-furred creatures stay warm right now?" He stands near his bin fire again.

There's a talking fox in clothes by the hot chocolate stand. Connant takes notice of the fox for a moment, then shrugs. That's the Nexus for you. He shouldn't be so surprised by now.

"The coats help, I can tell you that much. I'm just glad we're not reptiles." Connant indicates the thick blue coat he's wearing. He rummages in his pocket for his wallet. "How much is the hot chocolate? Reminds me a bit of home around this time of year."

"The reptiles in my world have their own area, that is always warm. I don't see snow myself, in the area of town of Zootopia where I live."

"By donation. I figure I will do my part to warm up others."

"What kind of world are you from?" There's curiosity in the physicist's voice. "Zootopia. A city?"

He turns his attentions to hot chocolate. "Very generous." Connant gives the fox a thumbs-up. "Mind if I have some, then?"

"A city of Animals. Like myself. We don't have... what did she say you all were called... humans. At all." Nick explained.

"Go right ahead."

[ofcosmicrays]

"Technically, humans are animals, too." With a wink, Connant pours himself out some hot chocolate. "But I follow you. My species didn't evolve in your world."

"People are generous here. Very generous - more than where I came from."

[craftyredfox]

"Not sure about the whole evolution thing. All the different species on my world seem happy."

Nick smoothed out his tie. "Oh?"

[ofcosmicrays]

"That's good. Can't say my world's so peaceful." Connant shrugs. "I'm one of those people who's trapped here, but there's worse places."

"It's pretty typical, and there's certainly worlds out there that are worse off. But we humans are a pretty violent species."

[craftyredfox]

"Why would you all do that to yourself? Doesn't make sense to me."

[ofcosmicrays]

"We've been asking ourselves the same thing for hundreds of years. Probably longer. Do they have apes in your world, or just no humans?"

[craftyredfox]

"Sure we have apes. The ones I know work in security."

[ofcosmicrays]

"Makes sense." Connant's a bit curious about this world. "Must've been a shock, meeting your first humans."

[craftyredfox]

"Definitely was curious about you all. But not really shocking..."

[ofcosmicrays]

"There's stranger things than humans here. So, are all nonhuman animals sapient in your world? You mentioned reptiles, and mammals."

"Of course they are. Why wouldn't they be?" Nick flicks his ear. "Are there non-sapient human animals in your world?"

[ofcosmicrays]

"No, but humans are the only sapient species we have in my world." Connant shrugs. "Your world sounds better than mine in many ways."

[craftyredfox]

"Sounds a little boring. If you ask me. That humans are the only sapient species."

[ofcosmicrays]

"It's what I was used to. Until I came here, of course. The Nexus is much more colorful."

"Definitely is. A nice place to visit, all and all."
