a new journal is full of possibilities
There are few things Atreus loves more then listening to the stories of others and writing them down. Okay, okay he definitely loves his parents more. That's a given though. Also wolves are cool. He sure does love wolves. He's quite convinced he'll prove his father wrong one day and teach himself how to turn into one but that day's sadly a long way off probably.
Writing in a journal though! Back to that! He loves writing about his adventures and and every tale he comes across, and he's wanted to write down his findings of the Nexus too... but he thought it'd be appropriate to have a separate journal for here. There were so many people from so many different worlds! He figures it'll be really easy to fill up a lot of pages really fast.
That's when he discovered the stationary store. Which is probably one of his favorite places he's found here so far. Dozens of different journals in different sizes in so many colors with so many pictures on the covers. And the writing tools! Markers, pens, colored pencils! In any and every color he could possibly imagine! There were other even more ADVANCED materials like stickers an washi tape but he was honestly starting to feel a little overwhelmed.
So he ended up leaving with a truly epic looking journal with a wolf on the cover and a small package of pens in an assortment of colors. He's investigate the other materials more thoroughly later.
As he walked he flipped open the journal. The pages were empty and pristine. There's a bit of a thrill whenever you look at blank pages like that. What will eventually fill them? He knows the first thing at least. He selects a pen and writes in runes 'Tales from the Nexus' and smiles to himself. That feels right. Not to just... get those tales!
"Excuse me!" he hails a friend or a friendly looking stranger, or just someone INTERESTING looking as they pass by, "Know any good stories?"

"Not here, yet." Lucifer admits. "In my own creation it is true. I am far older than I appear."

"You're... not a god are you?" he asks an edge to his voice as he takes a cautious step back, "Are you one of the Aesir?"
He can't think of any of the Aesir who are fond of collecting stories to the point where they simple know ALL of them but...

Lucifer looks down at the boy and the agitation from the suggestion that he is a God fades to a softer smile. "I am the first seraphim, created in the void before the universe existed."
Lucifer knows most people balk at the idea at first, though children universally tend to be more accepting.

Plus he doesn't really want to start an argument with someone who apparently knows ALL the stories.
"So if you were born before the universe, how old IS the universe?" he's curious more then anything. There might have been a time in the past where he would have been more skeptical, but he's also become friends with a giant snake who got punched so hard he got flung backwards in time to an era before he was even born so Atreus is willing to entertain many claims for a little at least.
"And if the universe didn't exist what did you eat? Was it cold? Hot?"

This child has a lot of difficult questions but it doesn't bother Lucifer, in fact he finds it to be a nice contrast to the usual things he is asked. "I do not need to eat and it is difficult to say. My senses are not like that of a mortal and I did not begin thinking about what I have felt in the past in the terms a mortal might understand until recently."
Lucifer falls quiet and then adds. "There was not anything to feel around me in a material sense. Hot or cold do not apply to that time in any physical sense of the word. However, I would consider it emotionally warm. It was only my father and I, and long before he turned on me."

To be honest though most of these answers seem to be, well, odd concepts to grasp. He's not even quite sure how much a 'billion' is. Probably a lot a lot he figures. One thing immediately stands out to him though.
"Your father turned on you?" he frowns. He hates the idea of parents not getting along with their kids. But he's not so naive that he thinks it's impossible for rifts to form. He knows a bit of what happened between his own father and HIS father after all.

"Yes. We have been at war for more than half of my life." Lucifer backs off the numbers when he notices the confusion they are seeming to cause. "I am the first in many things, including rebellion. My father's ways were ones I could no longer follow when I saw how he chose to behave."

Literally. To Hel. By accident. It was his fault. Never argue when attempting to go through a Bifrost gate, it doesn't go well. Still they made up and it was only a few days. He can't imagine fighting with his father for just... ages on end.
"I hope you can make up with him. It's sad when family fights."

Lucifer wished, long ago, that an agreement could be found to stop war between the fallen and heaven. Now, no, he would never believe anything God spoke.
