one mech's trash is another man's...
Misfire is, what some may call, a hoarder. He would like to consider himself a collector of fine treasures. However his room back home is just overflowing with crap. The air hanger at the edge of the wilds he's found here in the Nexus is starting to look similar. He doesn't care of course. Buuuut a certain superior officer of his back home did and ordered he clean his quarters out or his quarters would be moved from his quarters to the brig.
Keen on not getting tossed behind bars like some kind of... of common CRIMINAL, he decides to do the equivalent of just shoving it all into his closet. The closet in this case being the Nexus.
And it's all here now. There's... a lot... at least a little bit of pretty much anything you can imagine. His 'home' after all is a giant ship with quantum engines able to jump into new universes. You pick up a lot of stuff when you're on a never ending adventure across the multiverse. And that's before you even get to the Nexus!
Yeah there's boxes and crates and just random piles of stuff all over... is that an arm? That's an arm. Misfire hurries over to scoop it up. Looks like it belongs to a friend of his. Riptide maybe? He has vague memories of winning it off him in a drunken card game a little bit ago. Maybe he should give it back...
Either way the junk had to be dealt with. Even he could see the necessity. So what better way to get rid of a ton of junk then with a yard sale? He could just throw it out but... he just can't stand the thought!
So he's posted signs all around the Nexus advertising a sale with vague directions to his hanger.
"Hey! Thanks for coming! You looking for anything in particular? Bet I got something somewhere around here that's perfect for you!" he grins and waves at anyone curious enough to come out here. Possibly with the aforementioned severed arm.
(( ooc: Feel free to make up anything for the assorted junk laying around. Literally anything is fair game, the weirder and more obscure the better. He's defaulted to his giant robot form for this thread but if you'd prefer to interact with his human holographic avatar just let me know. ))

"As payment I will except no a questions repair next I injure myself and don't feel like explaining myself to a medic and being subjected their cold unfeeling judgement," from his tone it sounds like this might be an occurrence that happens with some frequency. It does. If he's not getting up to things he probably shouldn't be then is he really living?

Ben's gotten himself banged up enough times in the Wilds. He's constantly finding himself in fights. Honestly, he has no room to talk on the subject. In his case it's under the idea that he needs to keep himself in practice, even in a place like the Nexus. It seems peaceful, but that doesn't mean everything about it is. Every place has people who will cause trouble.

"So... Rey huh?" he drawls, looking down at Ben pointedly, 'That the name of your sweetspark then?"

He imagines what the ship will look like when it's fixed. Probably could take it for a flight out in the Wilds sometime. Ben's missed spaceflight.

"Talk about star crossed lovers..." he replies, "She sounds like something real special."
no subject
After all, he made the deal for this thing. Whoever owned it before, and looking at Misfire's collection it could have been anyone, it's his now.
"She certainly is something special," he tells Misfire as he dusts off its front. "We used to be enemies. A little like in that one Earth play I read once - except in that one both of them died."

He pulls a soft polishing cloth out of his subspace and is about to hand it to Ben so he can wipe it off easier, but then he pauses and very carefully tears a strip off it to pass him instead. Beach towel size is easy to handle then giant frigging blanket size.
"I think I've seen that one. Moulin Rouge," he nods sagely, "The music was incredible."
no subject
For his part, Ben's delighted to have the chance to examine this ship more closely, and to fly it once it's fixed. He wonders what Rey will think of it. Maybe they can fly together, her with the Falcon and him with...whatever this is. It's nothing from his corner of the multiverse.
"It wasn't Moulin Rouge. Don't tell me, there's more Earth culture I need to catch up on."
no subject
"Actually, here's one fun Earth culture factoid. They got these things called 'drive in movies'. They put a movie on a big screen outside and you watch it from your vehicle of choice," he points back towards his hanger, "Been thinking about fixing up an old holo-projector to do that on the side of the building over there. When you got your new ship all fixed up let me know. I'll play something for you and your Rey. Been told it can pretty romantic and slag."
no subject
"That does sound like an experience. I'll fix up some popcorn for the two of us when the time comes and you can take care of the rest. Your pick of the movie, but make it a good one. That's my only request." Ben looks over to the ship, sizing it up with a smile. He's going to have a lot of fun with this, he thinks, once it's been properly restored. "Now there's just the matter of getting it over to my place in one piece. Shouldn't be too difficult, though."

Thundercracker's movies are just... hilariously bad. Misfire's seen a few of them and.. .well Misfire isn't an expert on Earth culture but Thunders isn't really either.
"Ya? You want me to carry it over for you or are you going to do the whole-" he waves his hands dramatically, "-Wizard thing?"
no subject
Ben gives a snorting laugh when he hears Misfire describe use of the Force as a "wizard thing". This isn't the first time.
"So you've heard about what I am. Well, I was thinking a delivery - don't want to draw too much attention to myself and it takes more out of me to move heavier objects, if that makes sense."
no subject
"Guess that makes sense though. Everyone's got a physical limit to what they can lift," he nods, though personally he thinks there should be no limit on MAGIC but he clearly doesn't write those rules, "So what do figure is the biggest thing you can lift without.. uh... what's the organic phrase? Breaking a sweet?"
Sweat. The phrase he's looking for is 'Breaking a sweat'.
no subject
He's also pretty sure it's based on a true story. At least the ship was real and, unfortunately, so was the iceberg.
"I don't think there are hard-and-fast limits, and I'm stronger than some. But overworking yourself is dangerous." Ben's not about to test the Force too much. Death by Force over-exertion ran in his family. It's what killed him the first time, or at least was one of a few factors.
no subject
"I see... I see..." he nods at Ben's explanation of his powers, "But do you think you could make me look like I'm magic?"
Can you turn the giant robot into a pretend jedi. Is what he is asking. Misfire is clearly up to no good. As usual.
