Return of the Blind Ninja

Ordering clothes and equipment from the internet is all well and good, but after Matt's entanglement with the FBI several years ago, the idea of completely untraceable gear has been a tempting prospect. Today, he's browsing the shopping district, rubbing fabrics between his fingers to test its properties, in search of something that might deflect bullets or knives.

It's the Nexus, you never know.

Unfortunately, despite his enhanced senses, there is at least one important factor in purchasing clothes that he cannot overcome on his own. Footsteps mark the approach of someone else, and though Matt keeps his white cane tucked close to his feet to be out of the walkway, it's visible enough to be obvious if you know what you're looking at.

"Excuse me, what color is this?"

The little sounds of Nick's ears twitching identify the fact that the fox is looking at the shirts nearby for the color request.

"There is a nice dark blood red one." He picks it off the shelf, and passes to Matt. A little touch of his soft red paws.

The feel of fur on a talking person is a novelty and then some, though Matt tries not to let his touch linger, as that could be awkward on a number of levels. Instead he takes the shirt and rubs the fabric between his fingers, exploring the dimensions of the clothing with both hands. "This might do. It's not really expensive, I hope."

Not that items in the Nexus tend to have actual price tags, of course, but even trade will only get you so far with the finer-made things.

"There seems to be a red tag sale on today. And lookie here... this shirt has a red tag on the suggested price. So half off!" Nick's tone is sly... like a fox. And some might think that he is stretching the truth. But he is very calm about his statement, so what he says is a fact.

"What's the price?" It hasn't slipped his attention that this part wasn't mentioned, although perhaps it was an oversight. Matt is a lawyer; details matter, and an omission stands out as much as a mistruth to him.

"Ah. $20. Half off must mean it is $10 today." Nick completely missed the amount on the price tag.
