It's Harley Time! + King Shark
Harley is in the Nexus, by one of the cafes, standing on a chair. The reason she is standing on the chair is so she can wrap a long scarf around the head of a very tall King Shark, who has to bend down slightly to accommodate her. At over 7 feet in height, King Shark is a tall humanoid shark.
"There that should keep you warm, until we can find you better gear."
"Thank you Harley." King Shark does not seem to be bothered by the cold, even though he is only wearing a thin coat right now.
"And now... to get you some help... hey Nexus! Anyone got any fresh fish on hand? Or a blanket? Or some advice for my friend here?"
"He just lost access to the ocean he was protecting... what should he do first?"

He doesn't know the different species of sharks, obviously, that was Blair's job, but they're Big Fish With Teeth. And that was all the information he really needed to know about them.
"I can give you both. And since your friend's in need, I'll give you the fish for free." He offers the massive shark and Harley a smile. "Hello, mister. My name's Kinner. I run a fish stand in the Plaza. You're welcome to visit any time you like."
no subject
"I prefer to eat fresh, if possible."
Harley grins. "And I am still on my vegetarian diet, so I didn't have any for him."
no subject
Is he scared? A little, but he's never served a king before as far as he knows.
"Fresh is something I can do. I serve my fish fresh as a rule - it's a matter of pride."
no subject
"I am not an actual King. It is my Codename in Suicide Squad. Hardly any of us go by our real names..."
Harley coughs. And he amends his statement. "Except for Harley here."
"How much for a bucketful of fish, Mr Joseph Kinner?" King Shark asks.

Truthfully, King Shark is one of the more intimidating figures he's seen of late, but because he is in Harley's company, Loki doesn't hesitate to approach. "I don't believe I've ever met a shark before, royal or otherwise."
He offers a graceful little bow to the stranger. "What happened to separate you from your ocean, if you don't mind my asking? My condolences."
no subject
"Pollution. Made by humans..." There is a growl at the back of King Shark's throat. Harley reaches up to pat his arm, and he nods slightly calming down.
"King Shark, this is Loki. My lover." She brightens at seeing Loki.
"Ah. I have heard a lot of good things about you, Sir."
no subject
And he is royal, and there was a time he would have made a point of that, but being obnoxious to Harley's friends is a game that he will lose one way or another, if he plays it. Once the greeting is complete, he offers his arm to Harley, with a warm smile.
"Formalities aren't necessary," he says to King Shark. "Just Loki will do. Any friend of Harley's is beyond welcome, with me."
"There is an ocean shore within the Nexus wilds, but its location is somewhat mercurial. And at this time of year, it's mostly ice."

"Ah, Harley! Good to see you again and you, fine sir. What may I address you as?"
Always polite when meeting new species, Balthazar offered the shark man a hand to shake, or rather fin, if he sought to shake the angel's hand. This was what made the Nexus such an interesting place. The variety of creature that inhabited it.
no subject
His large hand was slightly fin-shaped, but still gave him three fingers.
"This is Balthazar. One of my dear friends." Harley said.

The angel performed a small bow since he may well be king of the sharks where he comes from? Somewhere beneath the deep blue. He was certainly a very polite fellow and this pleased the angel who took the three fingered shake with delight.
"Yes, I am one of Harley's friends and I'm an angel. Lack of wings at the moment since it's sometimes rude to flaunt one's wings in public."
He shot Harley a playful glance and wondered where King Shark lived. Perhaps the ocean surrounding the Nexus?

"Hello, lass. And hello to you, too." She tips her hat to the fishlike person. She's read enough about oceanography to know about sharks - by the shape of the teeth and the color of his scales he seems to be related to one of the larger mackerel sharks, most likely a great white. "If you're looking for the sea, we have a common goal."
"But don't let me forget my manners." She offers a clawed hand to King Shark. "skekSa, the Mariner, at your service. But I prefer Captain skekSa."
no subject
"I am King Shark. Not an actual King..." He quickly adds, because he has had others make that mistake by now. "It is just what they call me."
"skekSa is an actual Captain." Harley grins.
"Oh. I do miss visiting sea-faring ships, as they passed by my waters. I had a good alliance with a few captains." King Shark nods.
no subject
"It's what they call you, eh? Nevertheless, you must have quite the reputation to earn the title." skekSa smiles, showing her own sharp teeth. "The lass is right. I'm a pirate captain, no less."
She nods in response to King Shark's statement. Oh, she likes this one.
"I'd be happy to be allies here, if you like."

"Hello there, Harley. Long time, no see." He shifts his gaze to King Shark, expression thoughtful. Having neither blankets nor fish on hand, Prometheus goes for what he's best at, anyway: strategizing.
"How did you lose access to your ocean? Were you usurped by a water spirit? Or was this manmade interference?"
no subject
"Unfortunately there are a few chemical factories in Gotham that still pollute right into the waters. King Shark is a lover... not a fighter... so he doesn't try to stop them using violence." Harley explained.
no subject
"Violence in general, or violence against humans?" he asks, scratching his beard. "Because the chemical factories could just as easily be dismantled with a few well-placed explosives."

All of that rapidly being processed, the young boy of about ten winters walks up to the both quietly and has a calm look between them both. When he speaks, it's a hoarse and quiet voice filled with amusement and a Russian accent.
"Have you considered selling sushi?"
no subject
Harley kneels down and waves at Mantis. "Did you go through a age regression or something?"
no subject
He nods at the question and tilts his head to one side. "It's wearing off. Slowly. I can talk again. I used to be mute because it hurt to speak for multiple reasons."

"Those are the biggest teeth I've ever seen..." Atreus looks up at the shark-man in wonder. He frowns a touch and then corrects himself, "Well aside from a dragon but dragons hardly count."
Being the size of hillsides a dragon would probably win most size related contests.
"The river I usually fish in has recently become a little more... aggressive then I'd like..." it was in the Wilds, that's to be expected sometimes. He grins suddenly, "I bet I could make a rune to keep him warm though!"
no subject
"What is a rune?" He asks.
no subject
"And if you think you might be able to navigate your way with some giant three headed eels... We might be able to help each other. Because it's definitely the best fishing spot I've found around here."

“I’ve got sandwiches, drinks, fruit, some candy, donuts... and this fresh fish. It’s not going to be more than a snack for you, but you’re welcome to it”
She unpacks a very nice picnic spread, with entirely too much food for one woman, and a wrapped package of fresh tuna.
“I always pack too much and end up giving it away” she explains “...except for the candy. I eat too much of that”
