Rosco is randomly wandering around. He's talking to anyone who is willing.

"They're just some things about this place that I can't get the hang of. Like all the things people go around talking and typing into. I'm just a good old boy from Georgia. What are those things and should I have one?"

He's also a bit confused about jobs and how Nexus society works, especially as a member of the establishment in his own universe.

"How'm I supposed to get work here and what's the employment rate like? I've been feeding myself by selling stuff I find...stuff I find outside that looks unclaimed. I've even sold bottle caps, like that one fella suggested. Is anyone hiring? I don't know much outside of law enforcement."

Rosco starts. Okay. He's known this place was odd. He gulps and forces himself to be calm. He's scared, but he's not gonna be rude about it.

"Well. It ain't a good place for ice. It don't even snow at Christmas," Rosco points out. "I'd appreciate any help. I like being useful and I need to earn my keep."

He's not entirely lying. Sure, he's crooked, but he became a cop to help keep order in his town and to protect people.

"Ice Bear lives in California, doesn't get cold there. Georgia is a culinary enigma. Ice Bear wants to learn Southern cooking sometime."

[The bear can somewhat sense the uncomfortable presence he's accidentally placed on the gentleman. His ears wiggle for a moment, before offering Rosco his paw for a shake.]

"Ice Bear is happy to help. Please do not be afraid of Ice Bear." [Everyone has a crooked side to them, ever this innocent-looking bear.]

"Uh. I ain't much of a cook. I could teach you how to roast a fish on fire and that's about it. My mama cooks for me and the cook at the Boars Nest."

He hesitates only for a second, before placing his hand in Ice Bear's.

"Good to meet you Ice Bear. I'm Rosco Coltrane. Um. I'll try not to. Just remember you're a lot bigger than me, please."

Ice Bear likes fish. Have a special rub or sauce for your fish? [A true lover of fish, this bear is.]

[His paw is so fluffy and for a bear of great strength, the handshake is pleasantly gentle.]

Understood. Ice Bear will be kind as long as Rosco is good to other people. So, tell Ice Bear what kind of place you'd like to work for.

"Uh, no," Rosco says, giggling. "I just put on a fire with a bit of salt, until they're cooked. It's the tastiest way to eat fish!"

Rosco is duly impressed, his smile widening.

"Ooooo, uh. Well, back home I'm a law officer. I ain't really trained to do anything else."

Simplicity isn't a bad thing. Ice Bear will have to introduce you to different ways a fish can be cooked. [Consider that an offer for a free meal sometime, Rosco.]

Hmmm...Ice Bear thinks you should try finding work as a security officer then. Could find another world to be a police offer in, but might be risky. Ice Bear can try to help you search.

Rosco is not the type to turn down a free meal, so he grins, nodding.

"Sure. Heck, maybe we can go fishing sometime. I ain't been fishing, since I got here. I'll have to trade for a pole."

He nods, sighing.

"Boss is always threatening to make me a security guard, if I mess up. He don't mean it, though. Still, work is work, I guess. I'd rather learn this place and find a way home, before trying to get back and forth from other worlds."

[The bear responds by giving his new friend a thumbs-up with his paw.]

"Would be fun. Ice Bear would like to catch different Nexus fish. Ice Bear can bring bait." [The sigh gets a small tilt of the head from him, clearly sympathetic towards the man's plight.]

"Should be something here that doesn't involve traveling between worlds. Many people stay and go from this place. Ice Bear believes you'll find the answers in due time."

"That sounds great!" Rosco agreed. "I ain't sure I want to dig for worms, until I know more about this place. Who knows what might turn up?"

He nods a bit at Ice Bear's reassurance.

"Yeah, I guess I just need to keep looking and talking to people who might need help, like stores and stuff. Are there any banks here? Bankers are always needing guards."

Can always buy worms or bait from a seller. Ice Bear could cover that. [Someone seems clearly excited by this premise of fishing, given Ice Bear has never done it before.]

Yes. Ice Bear has seen quite a few before near the market and shopping areas. Some small, some big.

"I'll have to check those out," Rosco agrees, grinning. "Yeah, I guess buying bait works, in a pinch. Most Hazzard folk catch their own, but when in Rome..."
