After you've been wandering around the woods for days, the trees start to all look the same, so Clementine doesn't even notice that she's somewhere completely different. All she knows is that she's hungrier than she's been in a long time, she's beyond freezing and miserable, and her injured arm is hurting more by the hour, shirt sleeve sticking painfully to her skin with blood. If she doesn't find shelter soon she'll be in trouble, but she has little choice but to keep moving despite the exhaustion in her muscles.
That's the only way to stay safe any more. Just keep moving. Just survive somehow.
What she doesn't know is that she's now wandering through a different forest in a place completely other to the U.S. What she doesn't know is how many people inhabit this place, how close she is to food, water, medical help. Safety. And it's not long before she manages to find the Wilds of the Nexus, and a tree with a thick trunk to rest against for a minute. All she wants to do is lay down and sleep, but this is far too open to consider stopping for long. Wiping her eyes with her good arm, she makes herself take a couple of deep breaths, closing her eyes against the chill in the air and throbbing from the wound.
"Come on...just keep going...there's gotta be somewhere close.."
