She sat at a table in the Nexus' Grand Library, consuming knowledge. She was in many ways unique among Dark Jedi - but foremost among them was a thirst for knowledge, almost as important to her as power ever was. In the end, they were one and the same, weren't they? Her Master, Jerec, had instilled a thirst for knowledge. She had been his right hand. Perhaps not the raw power of the mad Twi'lek Boc, but her efficiency and intelligence had made her his chosen disciple.
Here, the knowledge served many purposes. Her main objective was searching down materials written in the Nexus, about the Nexus. Thankfully, many of the people who hat settled here had been prolific, but sadly they were short on answers - thus far she had found nothing.
But she went on...intellectual sidequests, as it were. Reading about other worlds - even an alternative version of her own - places that, perhaps, she could visit. Places she could draw power from. But she did not know if the Force would function there - so many things to consider.
So the stacks of books grew around her like columns, her lightsaber resting nearby. Both a warning and a lure. You never knew the sort of person you might meet. Perhaps she would find more allies, or identify enemies.
And so, Sariss read on. The search for knowledge drove her, the quest to find the heart of this place, to understand it. And then, one day, to control it.
