Fairfax wakes up in the Nexus Plaza, then lays down immediately. For a very long time. He stares up at the sky, hands folded across his chest. It sure is nice here. Pleasant. Fresh, clean air that hasn't been cycled through systems a hundred times over. A lot better than in a cell surrounded by pustulent rot and dead things moving and skeletal hands that comb the countryside for him.

Eventually, he pulls himself together and drags himself into the nearest plush couch. Sorry to anybody already sitting on it, he's a very bloody, grimy, and dirt-streaked man who hasn't washed properly in weeks. And that's already discounting the bulky, ripped body armor that he's wearing. He's not very rude about it, but he hasn't experienced the luxury of a couch like this in a while. When he speaks up, his gaze is turned straight ahead without making eye contact, voice hoarse and disused.

"What do... you gain from sacrifice? When can you start becoming a better person?"
