It's only appropriate that Jonathan Crane wanders into the Nexus on Halloween. He'd been around for a while, keeping a low profile and keeping his head down. There are people here he doesn't want to antagonize, and he remains careful even when he reveals himself. Not that he's afraid, of course. He's well aware of this place's...oddities, and how they could work to his benefit. He's leaning against a wall in the Plaza, arms folded, and wearing a knowing smirk. Halloween is his favorite time of year, after all, even "off duty", so to speak.

He's not causing any problems at the time being, instead observing the varied costumes worn by Nexus dwellers. His own ragged garb fits in quite nicely, and he's not used to being able to blend in with a crowd. This was a grand Halloween.

Crane's not in costume, not his full Scarecrow costume, anyway. He has no need for the hat or mask here, since he feels no need to hide who he is. He doubts most of the people here even know who he is, which suits him just fine. He hopes most of the Nexus's people will mistake him for just another visitor in costume. Even if he can't harm anyone here, he'll find something to occupy his time. At the very least it's a diversion.

He asks a question when he spots someone in the crowd, seemingly polite but smiling slyly. "Seeing as it's Halloween...tell me, what are you afraid of?"

Hunter hurried through the Nexus plaza, with a bag of groceries in his arms. He had no plans to stick around the Nexus today -- especially with it being Halloween and some of his thoughts on what happened last year. The only reason he was in the Nexus was that he needed art supplies.

He also carried a bouquet of wildflowers, that he had purchased for Jim. There was no special reason, mostly he had wanted to give a simple gift to his boyfriend.

He reached the middle of the Nexus, when the wind picked up a little, blowing the petals off the wildflowers. And suddenly, there was more and more petals surrounding him. There were so many petals that there was no way that they had all come off his bouquet of flowers.

The petals started circling him, weaving close to his skin, and making tiny little cuts on his flesh. Hunter flinched and tried to move -- when the petals took a female form, and her arm grabbed him, holding him close. A pair of lips smiled, near where the face should be. "Time to claim my magic back."

A glow of magic surrounded him, and with a deep cry of pain, Hunter's appearance changed. He transformed from having hair to having none. His tattoos came back, covering his body, crawling over his skin. And the silver tree piercing appeared back on his forehead.

But something within Hunter fought back, and with another cry of pain, his appearance changed back.

The petal-shaped female form let him go, and with a soft sob Hunter fell down to his knees. "Fight all you want... I will have my magic. By midnight..."

The petals started to blow away, but Hunter reached out, grabbing a small handful. And just as he attempted to get up to his feet, the chaotic magic took hold again, changing his appearance back to the tattooed-version. And within seconds, back to the non-tattooed version.

Hunter couldn't move... his whole body shivered from the pain he experienced. Seven petals in his hand glowed slightly, with words forming on them.

"Someone..." He choked out the words, before being changed again. "Help me..."

[Okay gang, time for a little Nexus mini-Mystery. Check out the OOC post about this event!
