 "So, I got a question..."

Asking today is Harrowheart, who's wandering the Nexus' Downtown district puffing away at cigarettes and stopping at holiday stalls up and down the major streets. He leans over now and then to consider the merchandise on display, pensively looking over the goods with his arms folded behind his back and his hands rubbing at his chin or scratching his sideburns. But he doesn't buy anything – not yet anyway.

"Should you change things about yourself to get what you really want outta life? Or should you always be the 'You' that comes most natural, and get whatcha get outta that?"

Henry Akeley has his reasons for staying in the Nexus. Several of them, mostly involving hostile aliens from Pluto.

He misses the old Vermont farmhouse where he grew up, but it's not going anywhere, and staying here has its benefits, mostly that he's temporarily shaken the Mi-Go off his trail. He's confident they can't find their way here just yet. Not that he'll say they can't, they'd find him if anything can, but he's willing to bet he's lost them for a good long while.

Anyway, he can use the time he's bought to pick up supplies, catch a breather, and learn how to fight the Mi-Go more effectively.

He's still growing used to not hearing the sound of wingbeats and the barking of dogs every night. The only dog he has with him now is his faithful Houndour - a dog breed he's not familiar with from his world, but which all evidence indicates is useful to his purposes. The black color allowing Houndour to move in the darkness, sharp teeth, the wolfish ability to work as a pack, the unshakeable loyalty, and the fire breath. True, he's small for the time being, but strong for his size, and with time and proper care that might change.

Henry is something of a recluse, which is why visits to the Plaza are very rare. Old habits die hard. He spends most of his time in the Grand Library. But he's out and about today, just for the cooling air. It reminds him of home. He's one to appreciate nature.

"Tell me," he says to a passerby, as casually as if he's talking about the weather. "What would you do if something terrible was waiting for you back home, and it might follow you here? Would you stay in relative safety, or would you arm yourself, go back home, and fight?"
