Finding a happy place

[There’s an unfamiliar face to most lingering around the Nexus today, a woman visibly in her late thirties has taken over one of the comfortable-looking lounge chairs. She’s dressed in a rather expensive suit, yet keeps both feet propped up on a nearby footrest. For someone who might be trying to give off a professional aura, she’s doing the opposite, leaning more into an exhausted stance of someone who’s spent too many days staring at computer screens or holding conference meetings.]
“It’s been awhile since I’ve actually sat down here in the Nexus, mainly because travelling to other places has been my line of work for quite a while. Sometimes it’s easy to forget to breathe, to take a moment to appreciate things in the present, rather than obsessively looking to the future.” [She’s got a thin cigar in one hand, the scent of cedar and cherries wavering in the air around here, followed by a thin wisp of smoke. Instead of partaking in the unhealthy habit, she simply holds the tobacco at arm’s length away, simply fascinated by the presence of fire or the odor it emits.]
“What are your reasons for coming to the Nexus? Do you have a dream or a goal to achieve that can only be done in a multiverse space? Or are you simply here to indulge in otherworldly physical offerings, like food and shopping? It’s a personal question, I know, and you can choose to opt out of answering. But on days like these, for me at least, it’s nice to hear about positive things from other people.” [She knows that some people don’t like to talk about themselves, but it’s at least worth a shot to drum up some conversations with any newcomers she’s never met before.]
