not_the_question: Spliced by me (TARDIS bity)

The Doctor has been moody recently. Partly it's because he doesn't feel people are taking his warnings about the stability of the Nexus seriously and partly because of his inability to locate the TARDIS.

Okay, mostly it's because the TARDIS is still missing and a Time Lord and TARDIS have a symbiotic relationship and without his connection to her, he literally goes insane. Being in the Nexus rather than his home universe is not helping. At all.

He's spent the past several weeks looking for her. Settling in without taking up permanent residence and most recently, building a little replica of the Police Box. It's not the same. It's not her. But something is better than nothing, right?

Well maybe. He's sitting on a bench in the plaza. He has a bottle of Scotch (which means this conversation will not go well for all kinds of reasons), that he sips from occasionally. And on his lap, is the little miniature model of the blue police box that he assembled.

"I had a student ask me once, 'If someone's gone, do pictures really help?' I had a pair of photos on my desk and I thought they did. So I went back in time, took photos of her mum who had died when she was a baby, and left them as a surprise Christmas present for her. I've been here for months without the TARDIS. I built this, with that question in mind. It's not helping. So what do you do, when you're missing something so much that it is literally driving you mad? What do you do?"
