Falling Solo

A crash reverberates through the otherwise sleepy winding pathways of one of the parks dotting the edge of the Nexus plaza. It knocks the snow from laden otherwise bare branches and gives the smallest of tremors through the frozen ground.
There's a man climbing out of a pile of ruined and trodden down snow a moment later, shaking the slush off of his armor before he lifts his faceplate up to glare at the crystalline structure he's standing beneath. The statue itself has no reply, obviously. It's just a statue. Granted a rather ostentatious affair of magically carved purple and green crystals depicting a bearded humanoid lifting a scepter aloft toward the heavens but still. Just a statue. It glimmers in the chill air as if taunting the human standing beneath it dwarfed by its size.
"Are....are you sure it has to be up there?" The titan points with one of his gauntleted hands up to the top of the statue's carved staff. "We can't...ow. Can't plant the beacon here just underneath?" At his question a tiny robot manifests to zoom up the statue and give it a scan before flitting back down to her partner's side.
"That's where we were tasked to affix the beacon." Siri confirms. "We'd be done already if you'd stop undershooting your jump." She doesn't flinch when her Guardian turns round on her and looms with his mounting frustration.
"I'm trying, okay?! It's not as easy as it looks and it's slick as ice. I'd be better off knocking the whole thing over and putting the beacon on it once it was at ground level." Complaining won't get them any closer to finishing this survey mission though. Steve bends down to grab the small patrol beacon he needs and then pauses. It was right here a second ago.
"Oh shanks where'd it go?" It's not exactly crowded around here but Steve's in half a panic when he calls out to the first person he sees, "Hey, have you seen a patrol beacon roll past by chance?"
