Strange things happening around an office filled with magical beings is the norm in Mordred's life. Every day he deals with with magic users, vampires, and landlines in a bag (that call God, no less), so opening a door and finding something unexpected on the other side isn't really a shock. Or it shouldn't be, but a multi-dimensional hub is far outside even the young man's definition of "normal".

Instead of stepping into an unused office supposedly filled with the missing supplies he needs, he finds himself stepping out onto a chilly street along the Plaza. Mordred blinks a few times as he takes in his surroundings (including a-- Captain America PSA?), silently thanks the Goddess he's actually wearing a sweater while he looks around the area, and then makes his way over to the pamphlets to check one out. It's not the most helpful reading material, but it's enough that he looks slightly less nervous once he's worked up the nerve to ask a question as instructed.

"So, I-- This might not be the best first question to ask of strangers, but..." The druid's cheeks flush as he tugs at the bottom of his sweater, his fingers worrying the hem as he gathers his thoughts. "My fiancé and I are getting married soon, and a-a friend of ours-- his sister, actually... Well, she's planning everything-- for us, but I feel like I should contribute something." He frowns thoughtfully for a moment, then sighs heavily. "If you could add-- anything you wanted to a wedding, what would it be? Anything I should-- avoid, at the very least?"

"Once. It's more common among gods." Astaroth shakes his head. "Angels of my kind are not fickle like the gods of religions."

He watches the blossoming nervousness. "I am the angel of the stars, but most meteors that have impacted Earth have been the work of God or Zeus. The Baetylus have not been my doing."

"I see." Good information to have, though Astaroth will have to give him some patience where his timidness is concerned. Mordred interacts with beings affiliated with God and the Devil every day, but it's a rare day when someone tells him they have power over the heavens.

"I wonder if that's true where I'm from." God works in ways no one seems to understand, and Mordred isn't affiliated with most of the other deities that exist in his part of the... multiverse (that will take some getting used to). The Goddess certainly has nothing to do with random stones falling to Earth from the sky. "If anyone's figured out who has mastery over what, I've yet to hear about it. I don't think I've-- ever even heard of angel of the stars before now. N-no offense meant, of course."

"You appear to be human. No all divinities want contact with them or feel it is worthwhile. Usually, humans are aware of only a fraction of the divine that exist." Astaroth knew this just from how many angels humans knew by name. It was far fewer than the actual number that existed.

"I am Duke Astaroth, angel of the stars and knowledge in service of our king, Lucifer." He considers the person before him before going on. "There are humans who have named my female form, Astarte."

The name offered gets a wary smile. It's not Astaroth's fault, but there isn't a good way to explain that one of his coworkers from Hell (literally) has that name and is a terrifying representation of how far a human can fall. It also doesn't help that the angel speaks of Lucifer in a positive light, but Mordred will happily set that particular detail aside to deal with later.

"I don't know too many divines as a human," he agrees, "but I know more of them exist than I've had contact with or even know of. Not all humans know-- as much about them as I do, but there are some. I've seen the name of your female form where I'm from, though." He smiles a bit nervously up at Astaroth. "I'm Mordred. It's nice to meet you."

"There are many here." Astaroth had met a large number of them himself. "Here, it will do you well to approach all the divine as if they are unknown. It's safer."

He knows the name and smiles. "Named for the Arthurian character? It is an interesting name choice unless the mythos differs in your creation."

That's... ominous? Decent advice, but it's imposing given where it's coming from. Mordred nods his acknowledgement and files the advice away for later.

The druid chuckles at the question. "I'm a reincarnation, actually. I've some amount of abilities my past self had, but none of his memories. For deeds done, the Goddess - ah, the Triple Goddess of my world, I mean - gave me life again. Now I'm free to live as I will, and I... fell in love, with a man of God, no less."

He smiles brightly as he thinks of his fiancé, still amazed that things worked out the way they did for the two of them. It doesn't always feel real, but they are getting married and their married life will be even more incredible than their lives together have been so far.

"It is not unusual here. There are duplicates, reincarnations and all manner of manifestations of the same here."

The last part of commentary gets a laugh from Astaroth. "Two of my elder brothers have taken servants of God as partners. I'm not unfamiliar with the dynamic." After Lucifer showed up in love with an angel of heaven, he simply can't be surprised by heavenly and not so heavenly falling in love.

"There are? You mean I could see-- myself? Or someone who looks like me?" That will definitely throw him for a few loops later today.

"They have?" Mordred chuckles, already feeling better about having shared this much with a new acquaintance. "There must be something about them. I literally fell in love-- at first sight."

"Perhaps. I know of someone with a similar appearance." Astaroth sighs. "I only hope if you meet our king you fair better favor."

"Our eldest brother is known for falling quickly. The fact that is choice of partners leaves God astir is only an additional benefit. My other brother took us all by surprise, though his strong convictions have proven a common bond." He pauses with curiosity. "Tell me about your partner of God and how you differ. I wonder if there are similarities."

As the king Astaroth is talking about it Lucifer... yes, Mordred would very much like to be on good terms with him rather than bad. The druid gulps audibly and nods. "Should we ever meet, I hope for that too."

It's interesting to hear of others who come from a different faith (is that the right word for angels? Mordred's uncertain) ending up with lovers who follow the ways of God. He smiles as he listens, then blinks in surprise when the conversation is turned back on him. Oh, he could talk about Galeas for days, so time to trim it down a bit.

"Well, he's-- an envoy of God, a being created to do His work on Earth. He's not actually human, but I think that's part of why I love him." Mordred chuckles, his smile warming as he talk about his fiancé. "I'm a man of the Triple Goddess, and as human as they come. Magical and a reincarnation of someone very powerful, but still-- mortal." For now. That'll change soon, but... well, that's something to worry and talk about later.

He shrugs a little and smiles up at Astaroth. "He's very naive of the world in some ways. He knows a lot of things, but he doesn't always have context or nuance. But he's the most earnest and loving person I've ever met, and he always puts his whole self into everything he does. It's endearing in a way many humans aren't."
