Finally, a place stranger than his office!

Strange things happening around an office filled with magical beings is the norm in Mordred's life. Every day he deals with with magic users, vampires, and landlines in a bag (that call God, no less), so opening a door and finding something unexpected on the other side isn't really a shock. Or it shouldn't be, but a multi-dimensional hub is far outside even the young man's definition of "normal".

Instead of stepping into an unused office supposedly filled with the missing supplies he needs, he finds himself stepping out onto a chilly street along the Plaza. Mordred blinks a few times as he takes in his surroundings (including a-- Captain America PSA?), silently thanks the Goddess he's actually wearing a sweater while he looks around the area, and then makes his way over to the pamphlets to check one out. It's not the most helpful reading material, but it's enough that he looks slightly less nervous once he's worked up the nerve to ask a question as instructed.

"So, I-- This might not be the best first question to ask of strangers, but..." The druid's cheeks flush as he tugs at the bottom of his sweater, his fingers worrying the hem as he gathers his thoughts. "My fiancé and I are getting married soon, and a-a friend of ours-- his sister, actually... Well, she's planning everything-- for us, but I feel like I should contribute something." He frowns thoughtfully for a moment, then sighs heavily. "If you could add-- anything you wanted to a wedding, what would it be? Anything I should-- avoid, at the very least?"

"That would be much appreciated. After the chaos in Zootopia, with the uncertainty if predator animals were a danger or not... there were a lot of children who really could need the support."

Mordred nods. "Of course. I don't-- have money like yours, but if there's an exchange or something I could get you something today. Or I could bring clothes or food or something, if that'd be better."

"Maybe food would be better." Nick looks down at his own wardrobe. "There are all kinds and sizes of children in my world. From the smallest mouse, to an elephant, or giraffe. It would be difficult to buy clothing that is one size fits all."

"Ah, yes, that would-- be difficult." Mordred laughs nervously. Apparently everyone is an animal where Nick comes from? "Food would be easy enough. We can bring a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and even a lot of seeds for making or adding to gardens. They'd all grow well and take easily to soil, I promise." With a few blessings from both his and his fiancé's gods, and some of his own magic, it would be very easy for the druid to pass along enough seeds for several very large gardens.

"Fruits and vegetables would be great. Most of the predator-types.... like myself... are non meat eaters anyway." It is one of the reasons that the whole disaster between the two different type of animals happened anyway.

"We do not have any.... humans as you are called... in my dimension." Nick explains.

"If you are willing to help teach a few of the children how to grow their own food... I am sure they will be enthralled by you."

"O-oh, well, I-- I don't know if I should visit to show them all that... It's the same as raising flowers or hedges. I could find a good-- book to teach them if necessary, but I'm not sure I'd have-- t-time to properly teach them myself."

An upcoming wedding is one thing, but Mordred knows his whole life and work situation will be changing shortly after that. Making any promises of his time that aren't immediately happening is a very bad idea in his book.

"Maybe it would be better then... if you gave the books and anything else to Judy. She has more of a green thumb than I do." Nick smiles.

Mordred nods. "I'd be glad to do that," he says with a smile. "Do you have a way I could contact you or your Judy when I've everything together? Shouldn't take more than a week or two at most."

"I have a business card." Nick held out the business card to Mordred. "It has my number on it. My PINpoint number."

[itdruid]

PINpoint. Right. Mordred read about that in the pamphlet the man on the PA system pointed out. He'll have to get one of those. With a nod, he takes Nick's card.

"I'll ring you when everything's ready, then. Thank you, for everything. It's been a pleasure meeting you."
