Time for the Squad to get a new name
There is a loud audible BANG! from behind one of the Nexus portal doors. It falls off its hinges, and smoke flows from it.
Six figures emerge from the smoke, a little battered. A little beaten.
Captain Boomerang bends down to pick up the door from the ground. He dusts it off. And pulls out some duct tape out of his pocket, in an attempt to secure the door back onto the now closed portal.
Doctor Pyscho pulls at his collar, trying to loosen his tie.
King Shark, who has been to the Nexus recently, looks around for an available table where he and his friends can sit down, and catch their breath.
Clayface looks up at the large PSA on the screen done by Captain America. He shifts his clothing to look similar to what Captain America is wearing. And smiles at the others, as he now feels like he fits in.
And finally, Poison Ivy, who is holding up a slightly injured Harley Quinn, who is limping on one leg right now. Poison Ivy looks around the Nexus and shakes her head.
"Told ya' they wouldn't be able to follow us!" Harley giggles.
"That is hardly the point. Harley. I don't think we should be here."
"Come on! If anyone can help the rest of you. It has got to be someone from the Nexus. I am tired of Waller always putting your lives at risk. And you all not getting any recognition for it." Harley smiles. King Shark signals that he has found a table, and waves them over. Poison Ivy helps Harley to a chair.
"You know I am not used to having other people help me." She whispers.
"The Nexus is THE place for second chances Red." Harley grins again. And giggles slightly. "Hey You!"
It is really easy for Harley to get someone else's attention.
"You wanna tell my friends here about a second chance you were given... just because of coming to the Nexus?"

Ben nods in respect as he stands. He doesn't recognize anyone but Harley, but he can guess they're friends of hers.
"I got a second chance by coming here. The Nexus brought me back after I died back in my home universe. So I know they aren't to be wasted. I've been working to become a better person - it's an opportunity I thought I didn't deserve. I'm lucky to have had that chance."
no subject
"See. The Nexus gave Ben a second chance." Harley grins at the others.
"It is a requirement to actually be a better person?" The smaller Doctor Psycho asks from where he is sitting.
no subject
"Not exactly." Ben answers Doctor Psycho's question. "It's what I decided I needed to do for myself."
Ben sobers, a little shy around so many strangers. "So, Harley. They're your friends from your world?" He offers a hand.

(You can't crash a party when everyone's invited.)
"Well, when I arrived, a beautiful woman bought me ice cream and then invited me to stay with her," he says, sauntering closer. "And believe it or not, that's not the sort of invitation a person like me gets every day."
The injured leg catches his attention, then, and he makes a beeline for Harley's side, worried but not overly solicitous. "I assume whoever did that to you is handled already, kjaereste...how bad is it? Should I fetch a medic?"
no subject
"Oh I recon they all hurting more than us, fellow'" Captain Boomerang calls over his shoulder. A deep southern twang in his voice.
"Oh it will heal..." Harley grins and giggles. Red shakes her head. And looks up at Loki. "It is not her leg I am more concerned about."
no subject
Glancing at the man with the accent, he nods. "Good, I was sure Harley's teammates wouldn't disappoint."
(And on that note, he has to take a moment to flash a thumbs-up at Clayface. "Nicely done, by the way. We should talk shop later."
...Listen, the only thing more delightfully disruptive than a shapeshifter is two shapeshifters.)
"I know it will heal, but--" he raises an eyebrow at Red. "What's happened?"

There's a faint energon flush in Megatron's silver facial derma as he takes in the faces and demeanour of the group surrounding Harley.
"My name is Megatron. I decided that letting the Galactic Council execute me after I finished the mission they sent me on wouldn't undo any of the things I regret doing, and it might undo some of the things I am glad I have done. It certainly wouldn't make me a better person. Only living a different life can do that. So I decided to take the opportunity to live in a place where there are people who love me, a place where I can do better things than I've done before. I'd advise you to do the same."
no subject
"Got to find a place where that is possible first," Doctor Psycho quips. He stands up on the table, to not feel as short as he is, around the taller Megatron.

"Starting completely over isn't easy, and many of us struggle with doing so as we cling to the old and familiar while dealing living with the new." Amelia's smile is rueful, but earnest. "Some of us start over multiple times here as we try, fail, and are forced to try again. Having friends to rely on makes it... less difficult than it might otherwise be, and I'm told feeling completely settled after you've figured things out is wonderful." She just can't say that for certain for herself yet.
no subject
"I wonder if I would ever feel completely settled. Myself." She muses.

"Perhaps we should attend to your injuries first." Lucifer, like his brother takes this duty seriously. "My people have had many here in the years since we first arrived."

"The physical wound will heal shortly. I am more concerned about her mental state." Red notes softly. Harley giggles. Unfocused right now.

"Harley? Are you alright? Oh, and I see you've brought some friends along. Are they part of your squad?"
The fact that bombs may be implanted in their heads did cross Balthazar's mind but he decided to say nothing more of it. Harley's friends were now in the Nexus and what a crew they were! A wash of relief did pass over the angel's face knowing they would be safe now. The green woman who seemed to have plants entangled around her body was particularly interesting to Balthazar but he didn't stare. She was helping Harley up.

Poison Ivy looks up at him. And smiles when she notices his gaze on the plants that cover her. She makes sure that Harley is settled.
"I am Poison Ivy. I don't believe we have met before. The boys are Captain Boomerang, Doctor Psycho, King Shark and Clayface."
"I met him already Poison Ivy!" King Shark notes with a big shark grin.
"Ah. That is good. One less introduction was needed, then." Pam smiles.

"Harley, what the hell," he replies when she points at him and asks for a feel-good story. "Is that really your top priority right now?" His sarcasm masks his concern for her injury, and the general state of her... teammates? Well, they must be, if she's trying to give them some sort of pep talk about the Nexus.
no subject
"Her wound is healing... but her mental state is still scattered." Pamela notes softly. As she looks up. She moves back slightly, in case Caspar wants to approach closer.
"We really ain't the kind to have a plan..." Captain Boomerang quips.

The Shontin approaches, her hands held out in a nonthreatening fashion. "In coming here, our peoples won a home free from our enemy, and a purpose to pursue beyond the finding. Are you all right?"
no subject
"We are not here to hurt anyone." He reassures her.
"Most of us are just starving. And the good Doctor is feeling a little overheated right now. Harley..." King Shark looks at the smaller woman. "Took great efforts to free us. But she is likely too caught up in the excitement of the event to even realize she has been hurt."

The question is answered not by a person but a seemingly ordinary large white house cat lounging on a bench. His eyes and mouth are decidedly much larger then ordinary though, and his smile is quite unnerving full as it is with what should probably be too many teeth for a cat.
Despite the tooth situation there's not a malicious thing about him, he seems awfully friendly even.
"As you can see I happen to be a cat, you could imagine why this is such a particular joy to me."
no subject
Harley, who is still a little loopy because of the explosion, claps her hands excitedly. "Kitty! Come here kitty!"
"I love your smile!"

He's preceded in his stride by Yaga, who jumps up to glide a little as they get closer. Francour is half asleep in a sling around his shoulder and snoring away in spite of all the noise. The gathered misfits might even be able to hear the little snorts as the meowstic dreams on.
"I'm gaining a little weight and actually wearing clothes I like. It's nice going from death to re-learning how to function." Yaga pulls ahead and zeroes in on King Shark, eagerly sniffing the air around the man made of sushi.
no subject
"People who died can come here?" Captain Boomerang looks up at that.
King Shark gives a look at the strange creature sniffing the air. And stands taller, as if to discourage any action from it.
