saffron wind
Not everyone walks calmly into the streets of the Nexus. Not everyone is so distracted as to not see when the stones shift and the shops and buildings aren’t quite the same. She’s staring down into a sketchbook in her hands and muttering to herself for a fair distance before it even occurs to her to look up. Light brown eyes peer out from a mess of dark curls pinned up around her shoulders. She purses her lips in some amount of confusion and looks to her left, her right, and finally turns about in a small circle.
This stocky stranger traces her gaze over the various buildings as she slowly closes the sketchbook and returns it to a satchel strung across her shoulder by a long strap. After a moment of taking in her surroundings, she nods quietly and sighs. She shifts two things strapped across her back and shoulders: a satchel bag and a large pole with one end wrapped up in cloth. In less than a minute, she has the bag slung around her shoulders and over her back in the style of a backpack. The pole finds it’s way into her hands, the covered end pointing upward as she turns in a slow circle.
“This is…different.” Her voice is soft and deep, but quickly taking on a worried tone. The pole rests in the crook of one arm as she gathers up her skirt to tie off around her waist. Her leather sandals gently hug her all the way up to her knees. “All right, I’ll bite. Who did I offend this time?”

Lysandra giggles and hides her grin behind her hand. Her gaze darts to the pocket, but she doesn't want to pry just yet about what lies in a Hobbitses pocketses, as it were. "Oh no! Goodness, I had a whole image in my mind because of comic books and such, but I would never imagine to meet that particular hero in the flesh. He's more accurately a vigilante, anyway. A fuzzy and anatomically correct bat suit would be something else to behold."

This hobbitses isn't someone who should be messed with, but she likes playing harmless. "Oh god... I thought comics about Superman and Green Lantern we're bad enough. Bats too? Wonder if Harley knows about them. She and Ivy are wondering around at times too." She won't go into her brothers... Or her boyfriend.

"Erm, begging all pardons, my dear doe, but I do believe I have heard of those names. Kal-El, John Stewart, and... Oh goodness, I think Harleen and Pamela? They're a bit further along and there's so many names to remember from his particular rogues gallery." Rough hands. Seemingly intimate knowledge of Batman himself. Lysandra licks her lips and nods. "I understand if you don't wish to answer this question, but are you a bird or a bat?"
no subject
"I'm a bird. My original world I was the first. But where I am now... more like the third, but I don't go by Robin there." She chuckled. "So far I've only seen Harls and Pamela. I could go without meeting any of the others here. And seriously I'm still trying to figure out if you are an Amazonian or not." Hey she figures as long as her brothers don't show up, or heaven forbid any of the rogues or Bruce and Alfred she's good. Even on her world she spends more time with Roy in Star City anyway. That is when she isn't needed to keep Dick and Bruce from having a pissing contest, or just knocking sense into Jason.

All the names spark a great deal of interest to her. The prospect of meeting ones like Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy! Villains, yes, but not at all unrepentant or impossible to reason with. "I can't say that the idea of meeting either of them crosses me as being a bad thing. Harley is touched with the madness that comes with relationships with the worst of people and Ivy, at her core, is an environmentally minded woman. They're only evil because their means to and end tend to discount the average human life."

"Those two would be fun, it's some of the others that I'd steer clear of from my world. Joker, unfortunately Bats has banned me from face punching that asshole."
no subject
"Batman is right to keep you away from Joker. There are people like him who see the world in such a twisted view that it's almost impossible to pin them down long learn what turned their mind around. They are dangerous because there's very little that will make them hesitate in their path to break the world to match their mind."
no subject
She laughs a little. "Joker isn't the worst in town. But... Well the one in the town I'm now in is a bit less sadistic. It's the damn scarecrow I don't deal with well."
no subject
Lysandra's eyes widen a little hearing Joker isn't the worst. "Scarecrow... He preys on anxieties and phobias, doesn't he? Far more psychological."
no subject
"The one that was on my original world, tested his toxin on me first. So, I'm usually kept away from him at the new one."
no subject
"He's an incidental worshiper of Deimos and Phobos. Nothing good comes from people who weaponize the fears of others. You can destroy a mind with enough fear."
no subject
"My counterpart can push through it. And well, it gets messy when I get scared. So it's safer for me to stay back until given the all clear."
