Back in The Game
Tielle sat alone in a corner booth of the local tavern, fidgeting nervously with her drink. Her eyes scanned the room, looking over the patrons as she let out a soft sigh. Rubbing her forehead, she spoke to no one in particular.
"I've been alone for too long, it's about time I finally moved on. My daughter found someone, and I couldn't be happier for her, but..."
She shook her head, taking a sip of her drink.
"It's not like I'm replacing him. He'd want me to be happy, but it's been so long since I've even been with anyone... Hell, the fact we even bonded the way we did was total happenchance..."
She let out a slightly frustrated groan quickly downing the rest of her drink.
"How does one even find love anymore? This old bat is horribly out of touch..."

This was the vampire girl, wasn't it? Last time Mick was a little nervous because he just assumed she was after his blood, being a warm-blooded human. This time he was a bit better off to deal with the fact that she was a real vampire. Still, he was always going to be a little nervous of the unknown.
"Is it true you can't see your reflection in a mirror being a vampire?"

"Meeting my last love was nearly pure chance, so while I appreciate the wishful thinking, I fear I might end up having to take a little bit more initiative this time around than just waiting for it to just happen."
She took another sip of her drink before addressing his question.
"I'm sure vampires might vary differently between worlds, but as for myself, I can see my reflection just fine. I also don't burst into flame when exposed to sunlight, though it does hurt like hell. There's a reason I always have this handy..."
She lifts up her folded up parasol leaning against the seat of the booth.
"Oh, and holy symbols don't really do much, though even people of my own world seem to think they do. I suppose it's simply more comforting to believe that whatever gods you believe in offer protection against the unknown... though the look on that poor priest's face when I snatched that crucifix out of his hand like it was nothing was rather amusing."
