Grand Opening!
There's always a lot of paper litter in the Nexus Plaza. Pamphlets and flyers and signs explaining the hows and why's and what's of the Multiverse. People looking for others from their own world. People looking to barter for safe return to their own worlds.
There are a different sort of flyer around today though.
Bakery and Restaurant Grand Opening!
Come support your local Nexus denizens in their new business venture. Located along the main thoroughfare of the Plaza heading toward downtown. (Actual location may vary as Nexus fluctuations have been known to occur.) Housing a variety of Nexus-world pastries and foods made by Katsuya Suou and Head Chef Ice Bear. Have a request? We'll make it or die trying!
Please join us at our open house for free samples and help name this new addition to the Nexus Community!
The bakery itself is tucked along the main road with a large sign that says "Name Us Please!" hanging out front. The suite inside the brick building has a homey and comforting atmosphere painted in warm reds and oranges and lit by soft yellow lights hanging inside large industrial size mixer whisks. Two display cases frame the register while a large open door gives a clear view of the kitchen, specially modeled to allow a full sized polar bear to work his kitchen magic. A smaller work area is lined with windows allowing customers to watch the baked goods being prepared and decorated.
Free food? Familiar faces? A chance to make Katsuya say a naughty word out loud if someone immature suggests a name for the bakery? Surely there's only one question to ask here.
When are you going and what would you like to sample?

“Though this? This strikes me as a bold business venture,” one she admires… but again, might not willingly pursue herself. Something about mixing a dimensional hub with some of the more ambitious members of the Kirijo group doesn’t sit well with her.
“I hope it goes well for you. I may need to recommend it to other people; if I can assist you with it, then I will.” Speaking of bold maneuvers. That’s a lot to promise to someone she’s only had a few sparse encounters with. But given that tiny bit of resonance… why wouldn’t she want to try and look out for the best interests of someone with a similar power to hers?

This young lady certainly seems up to the task. Not to mention her abilities. She reminds him awfully of his own younger brother and his companions. It's been such a long time since he's seen or head from them, though.
"We'd greatly appreciate it." Katsuya offers Mitsuru a small paper bag with her samples inside with a smile on his face. One that's warm and with the barest traces of pride. "You must be incredibly busy, with your school and..." Well, he's not sure what she uses those powers of hers for, but it certainly must be one hell of an extra curricular activity. "Everything else. Still, if I can ever be of service, do not hesitate to come find me."

...And ultimately, she decides it wouldn't hurt to perhaps borrow a page from Akihiko's book, and take a chance. Perhaps not in the same headlong, rush-in-fashion he prefers, but a chance nonetheless.
"Actually... I may wish to speak with you more at some point, on a different matter. I've noticed a few similarities between us. And the seemingly common ground we share in terms of worlds." That's a decent start up to this dance, but it might need a little more. "And the... irregularities that crop up in them, that differ from the usual day-to-day life. Maybe not anything people would bat an eye at here,"
There's is a BEAR running a pastry shop, for one thing.
"But which are... uncommon, and unspoken of across Japan. It makes it difficult to do any serious research into incidents that occur in cities such as Sumaru. Or Iwatodai."

Katsuya understands the shift in demeanor and gives the smallest of nods when Mitsuru confides what he's already suspected, doing his best to be subtle. While such things are hardly out of the realm of possibility in the Nexus, they're quite serious in his world.
He wonders briefly if he should do some reading up on Iwatodai's local news, unknowing that his own world is several years in the past compared to this young woman's.
"I would be agreeable to that conversation." He answers finally. "Anything that I can share that will avoid.....complications in another world. I'd like to do my part."
