Those that ventured out to Minoru’s world to watch this year’s American Ninja Warrior Finals live and in person, knew exactly why the resident hospital orderly had been on freerunning across Cloud 9 since he got back. Those who couldn’t make it out there might have caught an interdimensional replay on TV. The twins had already seen it playing on one of the many screens in The Angel’s Retreat.

To those who hadn’t, though, Minoru’s question was entirely hypothetical, an innocuous kind of thing lots of people chatted about after a long week at work. And perhaps that was for the best.

“Okay, so… if you suddenly had a million dollars, what would you do with it?”

He’d love a list, actually.

“What sort of projects? And things and places?” He asked, laying down backwards over a plaza bench.

Aal chuckles warmly at the enthusiasm.

"Well a haha, ahem for starters." She murmurs and looks thoughtful before scooting closer with her own chair to chill with her friend. At least for the moment whilst she had one or two to spare.

"Mayhaps..a spot for healers like we had back in the day.."She muses half wistful. "A ranch might be nice.. A Nest egg for the kidlings when they're older." She murmurs with a wee sigh as she glances toward the clouds for a few moments.

"Hmm, and well we've been looking for a stable way tween the realms of our new erm spot and home one for a long time now." Her eyes soften. "Coummuaction is more spotty than I like." Even if others had mixed feelings about various things.

She knew the new world Dark Curses keep transporting them between was not a permanent place leastwise for her and her pack..Even if the others didn't wish to see or feel it yet. And also all those memories spells and curses could not be good for everyone in the long run. She shudders a little at the thought. Everything had a price, espically Magic.

Minoru knew nothing of the cost of magic. (He never really gave much thought to the portals that went between his world and the Nexus, either. He just used them.)

But he could understand the desire to set aside something for the kids. And picturing them all at a homey little ranch made him smile.

“Plenty of space to run around.” He chuckled. “Spot for healers? Like, a hospital?”

Aal nods warmly, "Aye and horses and such." She murmurs with a half-dreamy wee smile.

Before clearing her throat. "Ah, something like that.." She murmurs.

His head cocked slightly to the side as he asked, “you don’t have those kind of things in your world?”

She hums, "Our home Realm has more smaller-scale things these days..Ahem, nothing as large as what I've seen elsewhere. " She did not consider the spot they'd been forcibly taken to years ago 'home.' Even though there were folks there that held pieces of her heart.

And/or that she had a duty to look after. "There's a General 'Hospital' " She states making air quotes, "In StoryBrooke but it only services the town." She murmurs softly but firmly. And she didn't completely trust the staff or rather certain members of it.

One of Minoru’s eyebrows raised. That didn’t sound right. Or fair. Obviously she was serious about the air quotes.

“Nobody who works as a doctor or healer or whatever they’re called in your world should turn somebody away just because they’re not from the main town.”

She softly nods, "Aye, I mean I do what I can elsewhere..But I neither make the rules and such in the place..Hence." She trails off with a tired and irritated sigh and gestures in a way that says thus the pet projects. "Also, the main fellow doesn't know Jack about how to deal with magical beings and or shifters soo." Another point in needing various things and education.

Now if only she could find a proper surgeon she would be willing to work with her around this place and or elsewhere.

Minoru nodded, taking that in. He knew, for example, a clinic in his own world wouldn’t have the foggiest idea what to do with anything magical. But magical creatures obviously existed in Aal’s world, so why wouldn’t they know how to treat them?

“You can always bring others here for treatments. You wouldn’t be the first one.” He suggested. “In Jack’s world, they don’t treat any people with disabilities. They… uh… well, kill them instead. So he brings his kids here. And they get fantastic care, even though they don’t live here.”

As someone who works at the hospital, Minoru can vouch for the quality of care, and also the breadth of it. Doctors in the Nexus have to be prepared for just about any species, really. And any condition. If it was a surgeon she needed, Minoru could probably help her find one.

She tilts her head slightly, "Aye, tis an opinion." One she's been considering at length. She hums softly, "I have a few candidates I might consider..but ah." She trails off slightly, "I sometimes..need help or least needs be careful with the approach..Not everyone's..used to different beings let alone..well...ahem..Some have had bad experiences in the pas,t to say the least. " Let alone if folks didn't treat magic in general with respect and or know about it...Or should.

And speaking of which, her face goes into a frown/scowl her ears fur, turn pointed and go back, as her nose twitches. "Bah, " She half hisses. "I've heard..similarly." She murmurs an edge of a growl in her tone but not aimed in her friend's direction of course at the situation etc.

She brightens and nods approvingly at the latter. "Good, I'm glad he does." She lets out a wee growl despite herself. "Frackers." She murmurs and huffs through her nose.

“Well, if you are looking for a place that heals all types of creatures, I don’t know of a better one.” He insisted.

This intedimensional space was a massive melting pot. Any healer who worked here had to have knowledge of all kinds of beings, magical ones included.

“The Cybertonians had to go somewhere else. Since they’re made of, like, metal parts and stuff. But they’re the only ones I know of so far that the hospital hasn’t been able to treat on site.”

She hums and nods. Yes best to research..Say if there's some that mayhaps need a specially practice..Or a family one.

"Well, mayhaps I'll have..visit sometime. " Not check-in as a patient before she has all the details.

She tilts her head. "Is that like Optimus Prime? Or um the guardians with the wee?" She moves her hand to bob like the ghosties. She hums taking that in.

“Like Optimus Prime.” Minoru nodded. The same likely applied to some of the other mechanical citizens here, though he was less familiar with the guardians. An augmented prosthetic or something like that was very, very different than being made entirely out of mechanical parts.

Minoru was no expert in medicine. But he did see the wide variety of beings that came in during the night.

Aal hums and nods after considering that for a moment. "Alright then..Interesting." She murmurs, She's not a mechanic but research was always up her alley.

"Is there any particular paperwork or whatnot I might have to do to stop by ya think?" Every place had different hours and rules about certain sides of things after all.

“At the clinic, they’ll take care of that whenever you come in for your first appointment.” He explained, having been through that process as a patient too. Both he and Isamu saw doctors there for regular checkups and minor ailments.

“The ER is a lot like the emergency rooms back in my world. Save lives first, ask questions later. Unless, you know, they’re important questions for saving lives. Though, being a patient in the system would definitely speed that part up.

She hums and nods. "I see. " She murmurs half in thought. She'd have to look into some things before she committed fully to what have you. She hums a mite uncertainly in the back of her throat. She was cautious about certain things with good reason.

She hums and nods more vigorously at the latter. "Indeed." Yes, she knew the drill. "Much like that in fieldwork back in the day." She murmurs whether on the battlefield or every other day in the Enchanted Forest. "Most don't oft seek a Healer until it's extreme." Sadly.

Minoru could see that his friend had reservations. He’d enthusiastically vouch for the people he worked with, but he didn’t push much further than that. He remembered how big a deal it was when Ziggy came to visit him during a break once. None of the other Antheans dared approach a medical facility after what happened to Mister Newton in his world.

“Yeah, that tends to happen sometimes.” He scratched his head. With such easy access to the clinic, Minoru was a lot better about that himself these days. Sometimes. Maybe.
