Franklin has found himself in The Nexus, and he is hanging out on the street next to his green motorcycle and he is taking everything in. And he is trying really damn hard to avoid freaking out, at first he was backing out of his garage of his Vinewood Hill's home, and the next thing he was here. He takes a few deep breaths. "Woo!" He truly looks uncomfortable about the whole life before his own eyes thing. But he has to do what the rules of the little paper told him.

He leans against his bike, and he rests his hands on the seat. "Okay, questions, questions, fuck how did I get here? There you happy?" He calls out to ever may have plopped him here. Was it the FIB or one of the other organizations he happened to piss off? Merryweather? Gods only knows. Or did Trevor spike his food with a really bad batch of meth. No wonder the person was fucking insane.

Calm, calm, calm, try to be calm. Breath in, breath out. "Oh, and do you believe in ghosts?" It seems like an easy enough questions that doesn't revolve him flailing about like the confused person that he is right now.

"There ain't any concrete way in getting here, it all seems to be random." Waylon starts facing the man leaning against his bike. Waylon has been walking around a bit while reading the pamphlet where he was was pretty much getting the information about the Nexus. He hands the pamphlet over to him so he could take a look, "At least that's what this here pamphlet says. I got here via my Tardis myself."

Said Tardis was nearby a ways as he went in and took it to another part of the Nexus on his exploration of the place earlier. As for the ghost question of course he did, he is a time and space traveling alien after all so its safe to say he has encountered most things at least of what space has to offer, "Well if I see one then I'll know if they exist or not."

"My name is the Balladeer but you can use Waylon."

Waylon followed his gaze and notices that he did have one already so he put his copy in a pocket inside his vest. Sounded like the other man got here in a more random way than he did. All he did was tell Amanda(his name for his Tardis)to take him to a place he'd never been to or hasn't even heard about before, "Alright, nice to meet Franklin. I can also say you don't have to worry about any immediate dangers, that's one of the things I'm liking about this place. Relatively safe, but I'm afraid I don't know a way to get out of here other than my ship over there." Waylon said apologetically gesturing to his Tardis, before taking a look at his motorcycle.

"That's a nice bike you have here, one of my old friends had a motorcycle too. I got his actually a few years ago."

"It's pretty safe too where I come from. We do get threats sometimes from bad aliens wanting to take over or cause trouble on Earth," Waylon starts to explain, "I'm not sure if they exist or not in your world, but aliens exists in my world, in fact I'm one too. I'm from a planet called Gallifrey but I live on Earth."

"Maybe you're dead." You know, just throw out the most gentle and unlikely explanation as to an arrival in the Nexus. Ixis Naugus is so helpful! He also answers in a distracted manner, more intent on fiddling with a bit of crystal in hand and claw rather than look at the flustered young Franklin.

Though he glances up with a sour look at the mention of ghosts. "...Why?"

"Language," is the strong admonishment, though his expression growing more dour at the obvious distress over his appearances. "Learn to take people who are different than you in stride here. Or at least learn to hide your shock.

"And ghosts aren't exactly the strangest thing you'll see here either. Maybe you're one right now! There's nothing to get flustered about when they're just pesky remnants of the dead." Yeah, that's totally reasonable and normal!

Naugus, in a continued demonstration that he's totally normal and nothing to be afraid of, hisses at Franklin and shows way too many sharp teeth in the process. "Hhhhhhhhsssssss! Keep their idiot opinions on my looks to themselves, really! I've never known you Overlanders to be decent folk, though, so you're lucky I take your terrible manners in stride like this."

Yes, he's the picture of taking things calmly, especially when he's called a hell imp! The mage is up on his feet at that point, huffily closing the distance between the two. And hissing again, of course. "Hhhhssss! If this is hell, I'll be more than happy to be your tormentor! I'll rattle your skull until some common courtesy forms inside it!"

"Hhhhhh, I'm sure I'd figure something out!" He's in the process of being very concerned with ghosts lately, so maybe this research will line up. Deal with his possible haunting issues AND blow up rude afterlife interlopers!

Except for the part that this is the Nexus and violence is prohibited. But that's never stopped Naugus from flying into threats and posturing and it's not gonna stop him now!

Although that also plays into the mage eventually calming himself just slightly, his expression still deeply vexed, shoulders still tense, but arms now crossed and cape pulled around himself. "You're lucky you're dealing with someone as gracious as myself, though. Apology accepted." Barely. "You should know better than to try and make powerful enemies here, be you a spectre or not."

Ooh, someone appealing to his knowledge is always a great salve for a prickled ego. Naugus is smiling again, running that weird crab claw of his through his beard. "Astute of you, for I am plenty wise about all kinds of matters arcane and mysterious. I may not have put a great deal of personal research into ghostly matters, but! I can say with confidence that they're overall little more than an annoyance. There are methods you can pursue to simply block them out, keep them from making themselves known or tampering with your living space. A demonic priest hereabouts helped me with that very thing, so it can't be THAT difficult."

[personal profile] ixis 2016-09-09 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh? What's this one up to, then? Blood on the walls? Cups tossed about on their own? I've rarely seen them able to do little more than that. They're echoes. Stubborn spiritual stains. Latching onto the living because they weren't able to accept their own demises."
ixis: (Grinning Staff)

"Hah!" Naugus slaps his knee with amusement. "How trite, that one of the examples ended up being exactly what you ended up saying! Unoriginal things, aren't they? Honestly, just wash it down and ignore it. It seems the only thing they hate more than being dead is being ignored." Yeah, just shrug off that blood warning, no biggie.
ixis: (Annoyed)

[personal profile] ixis 2016-09-14 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, don't be such a coward! What could it possibly do to you? It's not like it was your blood it used." He heaves a sigh and crosses his arms. "I'm sure there are invocations that you could do to ward yourself. Burn some sage, arrange some runes, et cetera. But that's just admitting the stupid thing got to you!"
ixis: (Blue Sky)

[personal profile] ixis 2016-10-04 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Naugus sighs again, like this is such a disappointment and a hassle rolled into one. "Well, I suppose I can't refer you to the priest I spoke of earlier. If you're this badly rattled by spirits, I'm sure demons won't sit much better. A pity, he's quite talented at what he does. You'd be surprised how much good one can do with dark arts."

The mage points his claw in the direction of what appears to be a more urban area of the Nexus. "Head into the market district and keep an eye out for a golden statue of a horse with a man's face. Usually around there, people tend to peddle arcane goods. Ask for banishment runes or herbs. Agrimony goes a long ways, as does clove and sage. I'm sure they'll all tell you different ways to use it, so be sure to listen close. Do the wrong procedure and you'll probably end up worse off."

Balthazar chooses to politely ignore the first question. He has no answer, anyway. He's dead, that doesn't mean everyone else is. Unfortunately, he's also not especially reassuring, even for an angel.

"Oh, ghosts absolutely do exist," he says. "But I do think they tend to be less dangerous than certain mortal individuals would have you believe. Really, how fearsome can they be if they can be chased off with a sprinkle of table salt? Unpleasant, to be sure, but no worse than a garden slug."

((Suspect I'm not the SPN character you were looking for, but hi!))

"Statistically, sharks kill far more people than ghosts do. And deer actually kill more humans than sharks. Fancy that. I read it recently." When he's not making trouble with Gabriel, Balthazar has been spending most of his time in the Nexus on the internet. Nothing is worse than an angel with Google.

"So, yes, by all means if you've a resident ghost take some precautions, but you may also want to prepare for Bambi and his friends to come gunning for you. Any idea what your particular spirit's problem is? Or is it just that you're in his territory?"

So sue him, he's curious now.

"Ghosts have to have some sort of anchor to the mortal plan to hang about. It can be a place or it can be an object. Occasionally even a person, if they've some attachment to them."

He looks thoughtful. On the one hand, there's no reason he should do charity work for a stranger with ghost trouble. On the other hand, it would be awfully nice to step out of the Nexus for a bit, and maybe he can leverage something out of this. A favor, perhaps, later on. At least a drink.

He shrugs. "Perhaps. Tell me a bit more about it first? Is it visible, or just a force throwing objects about?"

"Words or just symbols or doodles written on the wall?" Depending, that could be very bad news. The angry dead don't often try to communicate. Usually they just lash out.

"I'll level with you; I'm not sure whether I can leave this place myself, since I've died back home. I'm not a ghost, though, I promise you that." He gives what he seems to think is a charming grin. Certainly he looks very solid and not like a spirit.

"However, I'm game to give it a shot, and see if I can shoo your little phantom friend away. But I might ask for a favor later, in return."
