On Top of The World
Tielle can be seen cheerily humming to herself, lounging on one of the benches in the town square, her black parasol propped up to give her a bit of shade as per usual. It's almost eerie to see her quite this happy, compared to her usual dry sarcastic demeanor. She doesn't have her usual cunning smirk or witty grin, but a full on unabashed, beaming smile. Her eyes meet with the first passerby she spots, addressing them with an uncharacteristically giddy energy.
"I just got the most wonderful news. This... joy... it feels so surreal... have you ever felt so elated that it almost didn't feel... real, that you could just as easily be dreaming and are almost afraid reality will come back and rip that happiness away from you when you wake up?"
She lets out a somewhat boisterous laugh, finding it difficult to contain herself, though it's clear she's trying to maintain that usual slightly distant demeanor, though it's not working very well.
[OOC: Just passed my Physical Therapy boards, and that positive energy is pretty damn infectious. Tielle certainly has her own IC reasons for being over the moon right now but might as well put these emotions to good use!]

"Every day for the past.." he pauses to try and count "... four months. Waiting so long for it makes me more anxious about losing."
[Congrats on the awesomeness. Have an over the moon romantic for more happy!]

"That's quite the long time to be feeling so good, perhaps I'll be so lucky to keep this elusive bit of joy for even half as long. What has you so anxious you might lose it? Is it more being afraid the feeling might fade... or that something might happen?"
no subject
"Yes." What could he say when everything she mentioned was on his mind sometimes. "Have you ever held out hope for something for so long that you're both convinced it will never happen and willing to fight for it for the rest of your life?"
Trygg couldn't imagine a better description of the past six years of his life.

With a slight shrug, her emotions calm, and she returns to her usual somewhat bitchy yet well intentioned self.
"Though hopefully you're not left fighting for the rest of your life in actuality...."

The Finn finally broke a smile and shook his head. "I will have to in some ways but most of the battle is done." then he added more quietly. "Now that he isn't an idiot any more."
no subject
"You've got one of those headstrong types, don't you... well for all the headaches it brings, at least they tend to be incredibly loyal."
She stretched a bit, cracking her back a little.
"My daughter found one of those... He's so devoted to her but sometimes he just gets himself in way over his head."
no subject
"Hopefully, your daughter's has come around, too." He wouldn't wish the 6 years he endured on anyone else. "What was your wonderful news?"
Trygg remembered why this conversation had started in the first place and didn't always like talking about himself, not too much anyway.

"Ah, yes, my daughter is getting married... and yes, the boy's certainly come around. Thankfully he's less inclined to work himself to an early grave for her sake nowadays and will actually take care of himself a bit too. I still remember having to nearly drag the poor thing away from her once we realized her fainting spells were due to being a half-breed. The stubborn child would have become anemic if we left him to his own devices..."
She let out a soft sigh, shaking her head.
"Thankfully those days are behind us, and he's now got the sense to look out for his own well being as well as hers."
no subject
"What do you mean half-breed?" He caught those words and they were good for getting him out of his own head.
no subject
"Don't worry, I don't bite... well, not unless you're into that sort of thing."
She chuckled a bit, half jokingly as she leaned back on the bench a bit.
"Once we found out she was fainting because, even as a half-breed miracle child she still needed blood to sustain herself, her lover was a bit too concerned with making sure she was well fed until she woke back up again. Literally had to drag the boy away from her and lock him in a room to make sure he got some rest and actually took care of himself."

Trygg nodded to her description. "I could see mine doing the same even before, when he was a blind brick wall."
no subject
"To each their own, I suppose."
She pulled out a small pewter flask, popping the cap and taking a swig.
"At least their hearts are in the right place... even if they end up being a danger to themselves in the process. I take it yours was stubborn and caring to a fault as well?"
