On Top of The World

Tielle can be seen cheerily humming to herself, lounging on one of the benches in the town square, her black parasol propped up to give her a bit of shade as per usual. It's almost eerie to see her quite this happy, compared to her usual dry sarcastic demeanor. She doesn't have her usual cunning smirk or witty grin, but a full on unabashed, beaming smile. Her eyes meet with the first passerby she spots, addressing them with an uncharacteristically giddy energy.

"I just got the most wonderful news. This... joy... it feels so surreal... have you ever felt so elated that it almost didn't feel... real, that you could just as easily be dreaming and are almost afraid reality will come back and rip that happiness away from you when you wake up?"

She lets out a somewhat boisterous laugh, finding it difficult to contain herself, though it's clear she's trying to maintain that usual slightly distant demeanor, though it's not working very well.

[OOC: Just passed my Physical Therapy boards, and that positive energy is pretty damn infectious. Tielle certainly has her own IC reasons for being over the moon right now but might as well put these emotions to good use!]

Trygg was newer to this place. In reality, it was the first time he'd ventured here alone. He's still not used to all these strangers talking to him which might sound strange given his profession but he's the quiet one. And in all honesty, at least in the music business a quiet bassist is often overlooked.

"Every day for the past.." he pauses to try and count "... four months. Waiting so long for it makes me more anxious about losing."

[Congrats on the awesomeness. Have an over the moon romantic for more happy!]

Trygg found a space to sit and enjoy the weather, either beside her on the bench or on the ground. He isn't too bothered by either.

"Yes." What could he say when everything she mentioned was on his mind sometimes. "Have you ever held out hope for something for so long that you're both convinced it will never happen and willing to fight for it for the rest of your life?"

Trygg couldn't imagine a better description of the past six years of his life.

"It felt desperate." Trygg admitted quietly. "I don't think comparing struggles is a benefit to anyone."

The Finn finally broke a smile and shook his head. "I will have to in some ways but most of the battle is done." then he added more quietly. "Now that he isn't an idiot any more."

"Headstrong and blind." Trygg sighed and refrained from mentioning the socially awkward part too. "He's loyal now that he realizes what is happening."

"Hopefully, your daughter's has come around, too." He wouldn't wish the 6 years he endured on anyone else. "What was your wonderful news?"

Trygg remembered why this conversation had started in the first place and didn't always like talking about himself, not too much anyway.

"Send her my congratulations." He said it, tried to stay upbeat, but the wistfulness is there. Trygg was emotional, at least inside, it was why he could write so many ballads early in his career.

"What do you mean half-breed?" He caught those words and they were good for getting him out of his own head.

Trygg finally broke a smile and even a quiet chuckle. "I have a friend that lives like a vampire. He says the same kind of thing." The humor felt good and he thought the joke should be returned. "I am but you're not my type."

Trygg nodded to her description. "I could see mine doing the same even before, when he was a blind brick wall."
