They're fine, it's fine, everything is fine!
[Well good evening Nexus! It's been a while since this particular buddy's been around, and they're definitely looking different than the last time they were here!
They've traded one of their pairs of arms for some feet for one, and there's a distinct lack of wings. Just peering around, blank mask taking in their surroundings as they consider, and then pipe up with what's surely to be a cute, weird little inquiry from an adorable little magic construct-]
...So how do you tell if someone has a soul?

"Look at you!" Loki's first comment is an exclamation of approval, and he circles the entity with genuine interest, getting full appreciation of the costume. "This is very pretty; I like the dark brocade."
"Souls are tricky things, though. A divinity may perceive one within a person they're speaking with. Or two, if that person is possessed or shares a body with a spirit. Frequently I can sense the soul of the people I speak with here, but not always. Therefore, if no god here can sense a soul in someone, the conclusion that there is no soul to be found doesn't necessarily follow."
"Also, some cultural traditions hold that a person's inner self has multiple aspects. Soul and spirit. Or the hamr, hugr, fylgja, and the hamingja. Or the nine parts of the soul as according to ancient Egyptians. I don't think any one belief is more valid than another, based on my experiences here. Everything is true somewhere, we just have to filter things according to our ability to perceive them."
...are you sorry you asked yet, bud?

"Loki! Hello Loki!" The explanation? They're gonna just pipe down for the moment to listen, absorbing the information with unmasked curiosity. It isn't the answer they were looking for, but it was interesting all the same! Not sorry at all! "So... you're saying it depends, then?"
A faint huff that's not really needed, their shoulders slumping slightly. "I was afraid of that."

Skuld doesn't even look up from the tablet she's scrolling through, though she does glance up. "Now aren't you a curious being." The Norn quirks her head a little trying to feel out what the being before her is. "I don't think we have met before. I am Skuld Norndottir." Hey she remembered from her friends that most people had two names and she is Norn and a female child looking being. It works right?
Skuld holds out her hand remembering that was something that people did.
