The Good Place?
[This isn't the first time Eleanor has woken up somewhere utterly foreign and weird. But this time, there's no welcoming sign telling her everything is fine. Welp.]
Uh. So, let's say that there's a slight tiny minuscule chance that somebody forked up somewhere. Like, a giant, earth-shaking fork-up. And you totally, absolutely, completely benefit from that colossal fork up. Do you speak up like a mortar-forking dweeb? Or do you keep your mouth shut and convince your soul-mate to keep their mortar-forking mouth totally shut too?
[Ugh. Even here the ban on swearing is in place. That forking socks.]

"Sounds risky to me. You'd have to make sure your soul mate kept quiet. If it's a bit fork up, people are gonna know about it, sooner or later. If your boss is the one who forked up, you'll probably end up fired. You might be better off admitting to the fork up and using it to win brownie points or finding a way to use fixing it to your advantage. There's usually more than one way to benefit from something."

Eleanor points at her own posterior to get her point across, since the Nexus and the Good Place are apparently linked.

She points downwards dramatically.
"I'd go to the Bad Place. I really, really don't want to go there. Really."

There's a very scrawny man passing through the plaza in some rather dated clothes, bony arms folded over his chest while he listens to the woman discuss her plight.

Eleanor gives Steve (who is kinda hot in a short and skinny sort of way, digging that twink aesthetic) a bright, sunny sort of grin, the kind where she's about to try to talk a good person into doing something bad.
"When I say 'benefit?' It's not just like oh, hey, this is great, I get two puppies instead of one! No this is more like...getting to stay in heaven as opposed to eternal hamnation. ...Hamnation. Oh you're kidding, I can't even say HAM?!"

Steve is completely oblivious to any looks he may or may not be getting as he is the sort of man who knows darn well they're not going to be the sort of man a dame would be looking at if she were looking. But he does seem very confused at Eleanor's forced self censorship.
"Is that a uh...what do they call it. A slang word? And what's that got to do with your problem?"
no subject
"I can't say any cuss words. Fork. Shirt. Ham. Ash. See? It's ridiculous and I really forking hate it."
She crosses her arms over her chest and scowls.
"I mean it literally. As in I'm dead. I died and went..."
She points up.
"They think I was a human rights lawyer who saved starving children. Aaaaaand I'm so not. So if I get caught, I'm going..."
She points down.

Steve makes a bit of a face. A mixture of concern and thoughtfulness as he taps his foot against the ground. She doesn't seem dead and Steve doesn't think he's ever met a ghost before. if those exist. Do they exist? They must, one of his friends is an undead soldier.
"Are you sure they don't actually know and are testing you? Maybe this is your chance to prove your worth and understanding of right and wrong?"

[There's a spunky, confident woman approaching Eleanor, idly folding a Nexus brochure in her hands. The question seems to have caught her attention without any difficulty at all.]
"Does the fork-up harm a lot of people? If so, you'll just have to find courage and face the truth, which probably means speaking up."
