A rolling down the river

A persistent rain pattered down on the wide lake. The day was early. But you wouldn't know it under the monochrome sky. The miserable day was punctuated by only one oddity. A large roll of logs slowly rotating about 50 feet off a sandy shore.

The entire thing was wrapped with several writhing ropes and gave odd shudders. Giving the whole thing the look of an over large faggot, left to float in the rippling water.

As the end of the logs faces land again, a call billowed out from half strained lungs as sopping mop of blue and green hair was slipped out of the way.

"For the love of The Returned could someone help me?" The call was more exasperated than expectant. But it carried to the shoreline as the logs turned on the whorls and eddies.

"Hmmm. Nope!"

That's from the perky blonde sunning herself on the bank of the lake, in a bikini, reflective tanning assist and all.

"Sorry, never learned how to swim. Good luck!"

The cry draws the attention of the Imperial mage currently inspecting the shoreline, and he lifts his hood to better view the situation. Ah. Something should certainly be done about that. Jumping into the water hardly seems like it will help, however. He can swim in that segmented steel armor he's wearing, but firstly it's not very pleasant and second, it's not very dignified.

Fortunately, he doesn't specialize in alteration magic for nothing.

There's a flare of blue-green light around him as he casts a spell, a glimmer of energy lingering around his boots. Stratos steps out onto the water and strides over to see what on Nirn this man's gotten himself into.

"What in the name of Julianos are you doing out here?" he asks, reaching down to offer the man a hand. He sounds exasperated but, it must be said, that's not unusual for him.
