Dozens of different species meeting and mingling. Hundreds of potentially dangerous individuals all converging in one place. Some most definitely a threat to any world and to the Nexus should the AV field ever waver. But nearly all a threat in some way.
And yet.
Quiet streets on a crisp morning in the plaza with no wind. Humans and non humans mingling to do their daily shopping and travel to and from their worlds. How is it in a place with so much chaos inherently present it's more peaceful here than Natasha's home world?
"How in the hell have we not destroyed this place and each other yet? My world's a mess and it doesn't have a third of the dangers this place does."

The spy crosses one leg over the other and offers a shrug of her shoulders. It's made the decision to spend most of her time in the Nexus a relatively simple one. Her world's turned into some bizarro nightmare. Here makes more sense, as insane as that sounds.

She's hardly the first person to have that wish and she won't be the last. But talking to the lawyer with the punchable green face is about par for her day as far as weirdness goes. And she still likes him better than the folks in charge back home.
"Do you have to deal with drama from your world here?"

"Nope, and that's how I like it. I don't need what I do here getting back to the company is all. Not that what I'm doing here isn't on the level or anything. I just would rather avoid the paperwork of unclaimed income, y'know?"

She's got bigger fist to fry than worrying over a different world dwelling guy gaming the system for tax evasion. Good for him, let him buy his own country if he wants. The bigger point of what he's saying doesn't go amiss.
"Yeah, I think a lot of people use this place to get away from restrictions they otherwise have on them in their original worlds."

But then he shakes it off, whatever that momentary lapse was or meant, as he goes on to agree with Natasha. "Restrictions is one word for it. What about you, dollface? What are you dodging back home?"

The spy gives a shrug and leans back in her seat while she takes a moment to look past Shark to the people going about their business in the Plaza. She imagines how much worse other worlds might have it, but it's not the sort of line of thinking that makes her feel better about her own.
"Been laying low since last June when some serious shit went down."

"Looking for work by any chance?"

And with it went everything they worked for. Stood for. Even if it hadn't, would she really want to be weaponized against people the new administration had personal vendettas against? No. A thousand times, no.
The offer though, makes her crack a smile. A genuine one, at that.
"No thanks. Trying to keep red and dirt out of my ledger, these days. The redemption game isn't as lucrative, but hey. You do you."

It's drugs. They would be full of drugs.
