The Lure of Learning

Hermione is wandering the Plaza area of the Nexus, with no particular goal in mind. She is closely followed by a large orange cat, who seems to twirl around her ankles just at the right time to avoid being stepped on, but still be close to the young woman in question.

Suddenly, Hermione stops, just outside the grand library and looks up to the immense building with a little bit of awe, a lot of interest, and a glee that is very close to 'kid-in-a-candystore'. But even though every bone in her body wants to go into that library and explore (and get lost in the books), Hermione has paused. A slight confused look on her face.

She finds a place to sit, nearby the library, looking up at the building. The orange cat claims a seat in her lap.

"Would you rather take time to improve your own skills, or teach others to be better people?"

"He was an undercover spy. We all believed that he had aligned himself with the Dark Wizard and his followers. But in truth, he was getting information that would help us defeat that Dark Wizard."

"He lost his life in the last battle." Hermione adds softly.

"At least he died for his people, ensuring their future was better than his own."

She paused for a moment, gazing over at Hermione.

"Whichever path you choose, I'm certain you'll do him proud."

"I just wish we had not spend those last few years, hating him. When he sacrificed more than we could ever know..."

Hermione smiles softly. "Thank you."

"You can't do anything to change the way you felt, but you can use his sacrifice to motivate your future. Now, should you decide to work for the ministry, what exactly would they have you doing?"

"There are a few out-dated laws... those written by pureblooded wizards, that the Ministry wants to get changed. Make things more equal for all wizards, no matter their blood lineage."

[tielle_mortevus]

"Interesting, and once those are changed I do hope they'll have something else for you to do..."

[mudblood_andproud]

"The nice thing about the Ministry of Magic is that there are always new laws to debate. New spells to create. New potions to invent."

[tielle_mortevus]

"Ever changing and constantly expanding their horizons... sounds like something I could get used to."

She sighs, leaning back a bit

"Though I wish there was something I could do here, something to keep my mind from wandering...."

"I am sure there are places to keep distracted."

Hermione nods to the library behind them. "I can't wait to explore the library, myself."
