While lots of human-style furniture is understandably meant for bipeds and little else, there is a K'da poet-warrior who is appreciating the chance to test out one of the chaise lounges in the Plaza, its cushion long enough to allow the entire length of the tiger-sized creature to stretch out comfortably, hanging his forepaws over the side.
Perhaps it's frivolous to spend his time this way when there are other things he could be doing, but he's been in the Nexus many times and never had reason to ask a question. That is no longer the case.
"Have you ever had cause to uproot yourself from your home and travel to places unknown, with no intention of returning? Did you encounter any difficulties that you had not expected?"

"That is awful to hear. The Dark Wizard we fought also wanted to eradicate a certain group of people."
"How long have you been in this conflict?"
no subject
"Too long," he answers simply. "Many K'da and Shontine have died already, and we have yet to know why. The only path available to us now is to seek refuge elsewhere before we are all destroyed."

He doesn't mind the questions, either. "We are a spacefaring race, as are our enemy. Simply relocating elsewhere on the planet is not feasible. Instead we are traveling far across the reaches of the galaxy in search of a place where the Valahgua will not find us." He pauses for a moment, before he adds, "I do not believe that they would have access to a place such as this. The Nexus may be a safe haven, or a doorway to a universe where our enemy does not exist."

"Perhaps there is also a shield, scientific or magical or both, that you could get established on a new planet to protect yourselves."

The K'da tilts his head slightly at her suggestion. "Shielding would be appropriate regardless of the level of settlement. Unfortunately, our enemy has a fearful weapon that is not stopped by any known means, so I am uncertain how much use such a thing would be."

"I am sorry to hear that."
"How do they use The Death, if it kills all that it touches?"

"They are cowards. To not even try to face their enemy in the battlefield." Her Gryffindor traits have a very strong opinion on this.

"We both would," she nods to Crookshanks. Who just blinks lazily.

Because they're exchanging contact information, it seems right to introduce himself at this point. "I am Faris, poet-warrior of the K'da."

"I'm Hermione Jean Granger. I am known as a war heroine in my world."

Faris tilts his head down towards the feline cuddled up at his side. "And your companion?"
no subject
She smiles. "His name is Crookshanks."
Crookshanks looks up at the mention of his name.
