We're all gonna get in a fight! [EVENT: FITE NITE][Warning: Violence and Blood]
People have been disappearing in the Nexus.
Going missing from work, from their homes, from the Plaza.
Locals are staying in their homes, shutting their doors. Even the more shut-in of Nexus goers will be able to tell that something is amiss around here. The Plaza is strangely sparse as far as foot traffic; many of the shops downtown are closing early.
Word is spreading in the Industrial District of an anomaly in the anti-violence field. Easy money for betting in cage fighting. Less easy money but larger amounts for competing in said cage matches. One on one, matches with and without weapons. Rounds go until someone surrenders, is knocked out, or dies. Who would set up such a thing? It's becoming very popular and many a coin is being generated. Are so many people really signing up for this?
Some are. Others are captured and drugged, thrown into the ring against their will with the ultimatum: Fight and get free, or die.
What do you do?
Are you looking to bet your wages? Sign up for a chance at riches? Are you one of the unwilling laying in a dark room?
Or.
Are you going to stand for this if not?
((Please view this OOC post to chat with other players before you jump into a fight! All fights must be agreed upon by participants ahead of time for severity of injuries. Outcomes can be agreed upon or will be decided by a coinflip by myself. Please do not come into this expecting to clean sweep someone without sustaining injuries unless you and your fight partner have agreed ahead of time that would be hilarious. If there are questins, concerns, or complaints PM me. TL:DR Have fun and don't be a dick!))

who is driving, bear is driving
"It's the least Ice Bear can do." [A pause, making sure no one else is listening.] "Ice Bear wants to know how you got recruited into this."
Wow. I thought I was the only one who saw the Clerks cartoon.
"That's kind of an interesting story." Han admits as he reaches over to grab a glass that he's been slowly sipping from. "I was playing a game of cards at one of the bars here in the Nexus and there was a man who offered me money to fight here. I don't get the sense that everyone else is here voluntarily though."
no subject
"Boredom. The rich wants fights, willing or not." [He says this without a hint of concern, but perhaps the bear doesn't have a heart of ice, even with his cryptic choice of words.] "...Ice Bear will take care of it."
no subject
Han leans back into the plush of his leather chair and he keeps his eyes moving around the room. He gets it now, Ice. There might be people watching them.
"What way, if you were going to come into this place, would you enter?" He says like he doesn't have a care in the world. He's hoping the bear will get his code.
no subject
"Ice Bear would get to know everyone. Ice Bear likes making friends and talking with other people." [His tone of voice doesn't change and it seems like his answer, innocent enough, holds a deeper meaning. Thank his lucky stars that his monotone self actually makes for a good poker face.] "Ice Bear was invited here to serve food. Ice Bear had help."
no subject
With a freshly repaired wrist, there's probably only so much the Corellian could do help in what Ice plans to do. Does Ice Bear still have that help he mentioned? The one thing Han is pretty good at it causing a scene and his wrist won't keep from being able to do that ...
"Do you think the people who came to the event need a distraction?"
no subject
[It seems like his ears were to the ground earlier, and has some idea that Nexus residents will not stand for this whole 'kidnap and fight' scenario. The bear stuffs one hand into his pocket, revealing for a split second, a key that looks to be made of ice. His other paw is raised to one of the maids, briefly stopping the conversation.]
"Ice Bear wants ice cream cake." [The maid gives him a smile and seems okay with fulfilling this strange request. Once alone again, the bear nods to Han.] "Ice Bear should take Han home soon. People get wild at night."
no subject
"I appreciate the offer to escort, but if you need to stay, I understand." He says finally. "Be that as it may, I'll make sure I'm careful on the way back to the ship."
no subject
"Ice Bear thinks you should sleep in a good bed tonight. Don't object to Ice Bear's kindness." [He's giving the captain a serious stare, even though the conversation has shifted off the fighting arena.] "What should Ice Bear cook for you?"
no subject
"I promise not to wreck the place on you." Not that he would have any cause to, but by the time he gets to Ice Bear's place he's likely to conk out. That leaves almost nil in the way of opportunity to create a huge mess or break anything.
As to the question about what he wants to eat ... "Meatloaf." He says. Knowing that the bear probably wouldn't accept a noncommittal answer for that question. It's a dish that he thinks Ice will know from earth that's awfully close to a certain comfort food from his galaxy. "And sunny side up eggs."
What? The bear asked him what he wanted. Nobody said the combination of things had to be a classic earth pairing ...
no subject
"Ice Bear trusts you." [A small smile flashes over his face for a moment.] "Ice Bear can make eggs and meatloaf without any trouble." [He grabs a pen and scrap of paper off the table in front of them. A set of directions and address are written out, which is then handed to Han.]
"Get some rest when you can. Ice Bear thinks it'll help you feel better."
no subject
"So you must be planning on being back by morning then." Because, if Han wakes up and Ice isn't back yet, well, then the Captain will be assembling his own rescue party to save his fuzzy friend. "Otherwise you couldn't be making me breakfast."
no subject
[He hasn't been making any enemies tonight, so the bear feels safe traveling on his own. But he knows he wants to get out of the arena soon, mainly to avoid everyone being crazy.]
"...Do you want Ice Bear to cook tonight or in the morning? Ice Bear is okay with cooking at anytime."
no subject
Which is his way of saying breakfast without coming right out and saying it. Let's try not to meditate too deeply on the fact that yes, when he made his request for meatloaf and eggs, he expected that he'd be eating it first thing in the morning.
no subject
[Asking the question is important, since he doesn't want to start cooking later in the evening when the meal is intended for the morning. The bear nods, then stands up, giving Han once last pat on the shoulder.]
"Go home soon, Han. Ice Bear will see you in the morning."
no subject
Ice does have the advantage of being bigger and stronger than just about everyone in the arena. And Han doesn't even know about the martial arts yet ... but even if he did, he'd probably still worry all the same. The truth is, he'd have probably wen't with him if he wasn't dog tired and nursing a bum wrist.
no subject
[The bear seems openly honest with revealing his goals to Red, especially since most people really would laugh at the goals of said ursus. He nods in respect to the other man upon hearing the favorable response.]
"Red is a good partner." [not to be taken out of context, of course.] "Ice Bear thanks you for your kindness."
no subject
And with that said, he feels like he can let the bear do what needs to be done - knowing that he's got some help coming from Reddington does make him feel a bit better. Anything else Han needs to say can be said later, he figures, because they'll be seeing each other again in a few hours.
