Ho Ho Ho! Happy HP Holidays!
There is something different about the Nexus this Christmas season. There is a light snow falling over the entire Nexus plaza. The snow is gentle, with no real coldness to the falling snow flakes. As one approaches the main gathering area, they will notice that there are many Christmas decorations, including garland hanging from the air, and there are twelve towering decorated Christmas trees, some sparkling with tiny icicles, some glittering with hundreds of candles. There are also thousands of floating tiny candles in the Nexus plaza, that gently move at their own discretion.
In one corner, there is an orchestra, directed by a Dwarf. All of the musicians are playing music on instruments made from ice. In the center of the Nexus plaza, is a huge banquet table, loaded with holiday foods and treats that showcases a variety of food from different cultures, and some of the different worlds that gather into the Nexus itself. The main delight of the banquet table is that magic can make the food replenish itself, meaning Christmas dinner never has to end. Most will be able to find something they would enjoy. With the added perk that the food is LOL-free.
There are some added little Christmas adventures, for those who get caught up in the holidays. Here are some of the extra options for the Holiday season.
Secret Santa!
There is an added bonus to the Secret Santa gifts this year. The presents will deliver themselves! There are tons of wrapped gifts floating through the air, destined to only drop when they reach the person to which they are intended. Please note that not all gifts will be given in the spirit of the season. There are a few prank gifts floating around too. Be sure to watch out for them!
Christmas Crackers!
There are Christmas crackers scattered among the tables, and in amongst the branches of the trees. They are decorated with festive paper that is twisted at either end like a sweet wrapper. Inside of the tube are prizes, and some contain Muggle prizes such as a paper hat, a plastic toy, and a slip of paper with a joke printed on it. But the rare person will receive a unique, peculiar magical prize, and will envelop everyone nearby in a cloud of blue smoke.
Weasley Sweaters!
Time to try your luck at the Christmas Sweater bin. There is a large rotating clothing rack that seems to have an endless supply of them. Each one more Festive than the last! Pick one and show your Christmas spirit for the rest of the day.
Enchanted Mistletoe!
Be warned Nexus traveler, the Nargles** have hung enchanted Mistletoe all around the plaza. If an unlucky person steps underneath the Mistletoe, they will find that they are magically stuck to the spot, until they can find someone to kiss them. Of course, the kiss can be platonic, familial, or even romantic. For a few unfortunate people, the kiss may be the last thing they would want to do... but it is that or be stuck in the same spot for the rest of the season.

She's usually decent at it being a student and lover of history. Though she's also trying to channel and use the techniques she'd learned from Sherlock over the years.
Which half reminds her to try and squirrel away some ginger things for him. When she gets a chance.

He raises an eyebrow. "Is your home full of pirates?"
no subject
She lets out a wry cough, that's half bemused. "Ah, well there's a few , sometimes it feels like it how some of townsfolk like to act. There tends to be more near where my husband's from being a Port town, were currently near the seaside where we're at at. But it's rather more frosty now a days. " She remarks with a slight shiver.
The cold was not her favorite thing but other aspects of the winter season, and especially Christmas was.

Folding his arms again, he tilts his head at her. "I take it your husband isn't a pirate. Do you live in your own world, or have you moved to the Nexus?"
no subject
Truth be told she rather have the likes of Will Turner and Elisabeth Swann, then a certain other pirate who often was the uncomfortable sort of creeper leery friendly.
"Ah no. " She states quickly and shakes her head. "He's, we've had quite a few jobs over the years.. we run a bookshop among other things now a days. " She informs him warmly no harm in that. She thinks, "I used to be a healer back in our home realm. " She adds warmly.
"Ah, well.. more like visiting or taking a small vacation at the moment. " She, they couldn't leave the others completely after all. There we're people in multiple realms they helped with various things after all. And a far few still healing from wounds. Both mentally and physically.

"I see." He makes a small sound of amusement. "Well, in that case I can understand the staring. Usually tourists take pictures, but sometimes staring is better."
no subject
"Aye." She murmurs softly and then slightly rolls her left shoulder. "er. yes ahem... Well, I didn't want to presume.." She replies softly and politely. She did have a camera in her bag, "Sketchings fun too." She adds with a lopsided playful smirk. "Ya kinda took me by surprise." She murmurs sincerely.

no subject
"Well, you seem like a nice enough fellow. " She murmurs politely and slightly playful.
"Ah, well I tend to do a fair mix of both.. though I tend to do more drawing lately. " She informs him in reply warmly.

"Well..yes.. I know..if the mind needs to protect itself..but..important things..people.." She trails off a little looking towards the middle distance. "This isn't the first time he reverted to a certain time period of his life..but..doing so ..can be dangerous in certain lands and such." She tries to explain.
Especially with the enemies her dear friend has. As well as his insatiable curiosity and his habit of jumping into things and getting in over his head etc. Certain information was key to have. Not to mention his personal growth,. She sighs softly. And runs a tired worried hand through her hair ruffling it a bit.

"Well, that's good." She replies warmly with a small smile.

Placing a hand on her back, he coaxes her deeper into the crowd. "Take my word for it, my dear. Talk to these people. Mingle. Have fun, make friends. You'll soon see I'm right."
no subject
She blinks but follows his lead at the moment. "Ahem, right well can't have too many friends, ya?" She half states half asks warmly. She'd still be keeping a sharp eye out for things and folks though. But saving some ginger things for Squeaky wouldn't hurt. Hopefully he didn't run off again.

Reynard pats her on the back encouragingly.

She blinks and tilts her head. Oh she knew aida..hmm yes she probably should say hello to her..companion. Whomever he was. "Oh? aye.. " She murmurs far be form her to not be welcoming to the new folks. She tried to do the same back in Storybrooke.
She gives him a small smile, and then wondered aloud, "oh by the way you're not related to a Reynard the Fox by any chance are ya?" She asks warmly. She knew a few fox shifters back in the Enchanted Forets who were. It was just interesting that someone might use that name and it not be a family one or something.

After all it seemed a fitting alias and he's worn it well this past while. He had quickly warmed to its trickster connotations and the symbolism of a scavenging critter, but found it unlikely that he'd inspired any myths himself.

whereas she usually had to be the responsible one or 'Mom' friend in the group. "Well, it suits ya." She replies sincerely with a small twinkle in her eyes as she pads slowly but surely in the direction he had pointed her. But still kept her eyes and ears open.
After all, tricksters could be both playful at best walking hurricanes of disorder etc at worst or when offended.
