+1 King of Asgard
Thor really should have no right to be as cheery as he is right now. Mjolnir destroyed, his father dead, his eye ruined, Asgard exploded, the last of his people crammed together onto a single spaceship on their way to seek aslyum on Midgard, one cannot really say they've been having a good day, to put it mildly.
But it could be worse.
It's taken him years to fully understand what it means to sit on the throne of Asgard, and now that kingship falls to him at last, the lack of that throne doesn't bother him at all. Asgard isn't a place to rule, it's a people to guide. And even if they couldn't save all of them, those who remain are precious to him. A new start awaits them all on Earth.
Or so he hopes.
Thor strides down the corridor of the Statesman, cape billowing behind him as he navigates his way towards the bridge. Hmm. Or was it this way? It's so easy to get turned around in this blasted thing. But ah, the sound of a multitude of voices; surely this is the way.
It takes him a moment to realize that he's no longer surrounded by Asgardians, or even Korg's crew. No, the people here are of all shapes and sizes, and the sky above him suddenly opens up, wide and blue. Not on a spaceship anymore. How very strange to find himself suddenly transported across the galaxy - again - without so much as being shot through the Bifrost. His attention is caught by a familiar voice, and despite his confusion, a delighted grin lights upon his countenance to see his good friend Rogers giving prerecorded messages in his battle regalia.
Perhaps this is Midgard, then? But no, the more he listens, the more he understands. A place between the worlds, hmm. A place to seek counsel, and befriend countless warriors from across the universe. Thor crosses his arms over his chest, and contemplates what question he should ask. Something somewhat relevant to his current situation, perhaps. "If you were put in a position of power, what would you first command?"

:D
And hey, he didn't stab him in greeting, so there's that!
"You'd be surprised how much time it can take for playwrights to craft their works," he tells him. "Evidently, no artist is ever content with what his skills have wrought. With that, I can identify."
Satisfaction is not in his nature, after all. "Although, yes, the statue did take a bit longer to come together. I was never entirely happy with the pose."
"But you, Brother...tell me this question is not born of self-doubt. Surely you've proven your competence to your own satisfaction by now."

Loki, Loki, how could you even suggest that Thor lacks any measure of confidence? Do you not know your brother at all? (Far better than Thor would like to admit, actually.) In this case, however, any self-doubt is a tiny, tiny part of his motivation here. "Of course not. But what better way to get the measure of a man than to see if he'd do more with power than sit on his arse eating grapes?"
no subject
There is, alas, little to no sensitivity in Loki's soul where Thor's feelings are concerned. It's actually nice to have reached the point in their relationship where the big guy seems to accept that.
"Can you blame me for wondering? Here you have shirked the throne at every opportunity, until now, and I come to find you asking for advice with respect to dealing with power. You have claimed both that the throne would suit me ill and that for 'all my faults' I understand kingship as you never will."
Real talk here, Thor. For once. From Loki. Savor it. "You are the very model of a warrior-king, Thor, but you are no politician. Some day, I think, you will need to be both these things."
And I won't be there to advise you. Or thwart you.
"But by all means, let's discuss my arse, if that is where your interest lies. Some have said it's my best feature." And now he's back to just being a dick again. Loki can be all four seasons in half an hour's time.

Maybe. Eventually.
His stung dignity is forgotten, however, at such an uncharacteristically serious remark from his brother, speaking to the one and only weakness Thor knows still lies in his skillset. Charisma has gotten him far, but though he too has now traded an eye in exchange for a greater wisdom, he lacks Odin's experience with subtler statecraft. "That's what I have you for," he says instead, completely oblivious to the irony. And yes, it's beyond a bad idea to trust Loki completely. But despite all their conflict, he is still Thor's brother, and his silver tongue has gotten them out of many a sticky situation. Some of which it got them into in the first place, but never mind that part.
The sudden shift back to joking is nothing he doesn't expect from the trickster, the friendly ribbing that's been their constant companion throughout their youths, and Thor raises an eyebrow at him. "Was that before or after they saw your face?"

He smiles a little. Impetuousness, a preference for action over statesmanship, pride and arrogance; these are the qualities in Thor that prompted him to resist his ascension to the throne of Asgard in the first place. They've softened now--the arrogance, in particular, has eased--but they have not vanished. Maybe Loki has grown more sentimental over the years, because he's beginning to find them endearing.
He gives a snort of laughter when Thor retorts. "What a delightfully backhanded compliment! You're learning from me, after all. That's the question you ought to have polled this place on: which is your best side, front or rear?"
Because that wouldn't come across as self-absorbed.

Perhaps enough time to start healing this rift between them, if Loki is at all willing. Even after all these years, Thor's not ready to give up on him. Maybe that's naive of him, but so be it. He's still going in with both eyes open. Er... so to speak.
And if that means learning to speak Loki's language, well, you pick up on a few things after a thousand years or so. "It's not too late, brother; I haven't heard you ask the masses for their opinion."
no subject
But they've both grown now, and the taste of their bickering is sweet on his tongue. A shame it's too late to forge anything truer than a few moments of amusement. One last friendly joke at one another's expense. Loki's greedy. He'll take it anyway, even with full awareness that this brother has yet to watch him die at Thanos' hand. Did you mourn? Will you?
"Do you propose that I request their opinions on your figure, or my own?" Look, he just wants to get this straight before he starts screwing around here, Thor. Be careful what you wish for.
no subject
"I suppose that depends on how disappointed you'd rather be." Barbs they may be, but there's no malice in Thor's words, and for half a moment he can almost trick himself into believing that nothing ever changed between them. But the moment is fleeting, leaving behind regret. How different things might have been if Thor hadn't been so blind, despite having both eyes.
no subject
The past is a prickly and forbidding landscape, and best left where it lies. The current moment, though, presents an opportunity for amusement. A slow smile grows on Loki's lips. "I cannot be surprised or disappointed any longer, Brother," he says. "Because I have learned to expect chaos at any moment."
He leans in and thumps his hand lightly against the center of Thor's chest, half an affectionate pat and half a shove.
"Hold my beer."

I'm looking to harass Thor ICly, in a funny way, not you OOCly. So if you want any kind of edits here, please don't hesitate to let me know and they shall be done.]]
