Spooky Scary Skeletons!

Loki had no idea if any other places were having Halloween bashes, but that wasn't gonna stop him from having his fun! Pub-crawls were a thing if that were the case! The Viper's Pit had been decked out in the spirit of the season, the drinks, boozy and non were themed for the holiday, and aside from the magically drugged glitter one could play with down in the club, there were all manner of edibles.

While the changes were mild inside the building itself, the field had undergone the most changes, from the disappearance of the arena and bathhouse to the forests normally vaguely in the middle distance having been drawn in much closer, ringing a large open field where several bonfires were crackling merrily, each stocked with comfortable places to sit, as well as marshmallows, skewers, and several options for meats to be grilled over an open flame. To the east of the clearing was an expansive-looking corn maze, and standing vigil over it from somewhere in the vague center was a large Victorian-looking house. Anyone who wanted to go snooping would find the maze and home both charmingly haunted by costumed staff looking forward to the chance to scare the pants off some unsuspecting partygoers.

Nothing about the place seems off, or strange. Bats fly about overhead, the moon is large and positioned quite perfectly to make the haunted house look charmingly spooky, and the woods that spread around the clearing are just begging for people to dare to creep down it's paths, jumping at the shrieks that echo from the maze, or just their own imaginations running away with them. Not that there seems to be anything scarier than some mild-mannered wild-life like the owls hooting in the trees- it seems the woods are more designed for a nice nighttime stroll for folks who might want a bit of quiet than anything.

Of course everyone wore costumes. They did right? It's a costume party after all! And if anyone didn't have one, the staff of the bar were quite happy to furnish some of the spares they had on hand, even if it might be something so simple as an animal headband, a pair of wings, or a sheriff's badge and toy gun.

No one was quite certain when things started becoming weirder. Not specifically, and no one was sure why it had happened, given the first sign of things going wrong? Was one of the poor unsuspecting waiters who'd been wearing a cute little bear headband? Was suddenly now a very large, and very confused grizzly bear in a darling little vest trying to balance the tray he'd been carrying on one paw, and attempting to sort out how to get all the drinks off without tipping them onto the customers, who were now a table of animals of varying sizes and shapes, as well as one very bewildered knight, whose plastic armor was suddenly much more realistic and cumbersome.

And from the yelps of surprise and alarm echoing quickly through the Pit and the yard, it was clear this was not an isolated incident.

Thor had taken a little convincing to come out for a night, particularly this one. Halloween is a quaint little Earth holiday, but he still has not fully recovered his appetite for candy after the autumn spirit's curse several years ago. Still, Loki had asked, and so Thor had given in and showed up with a simple dog-eared headband as a token effort at a costume.

None of the servers will give him any alcohol, much to his consternation, but he does not have long to worry about it. Sometime after his arrival, those looking for Thor will find a large friendly dog instead, currently nosing at the food tables in search of delicious snacks.

Laserbeak is more than happy to share the Forbidden Snacks with this dog, who is now of approximately an equal size to her.

"Who's a good boy? It's you, it's you. Cyberhounds aren't nearly this fluffy and fun."

Periodically she does still lapse into chirps and trills.

Those in the corn maze are not alone.

Tall stalks of corn do not entirely conceal the bulk of the creature, its smooth black back and the points of its neck crest sticking up above the dried foliage, paws treading quietly in the chaff.

The palulukan sniffs at the air, homing in on the closest warm body. Jake probably should have eaten before he came...

Peter was dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and was exploring the corn maze when the magic affected the whole area.

He is not sure what the hell the thing is sniffing at the air... but he certainly does not want to stick around to find out.

He turns to sonic speed out of there... and trips over his now turtle-shaped feet, and realizes in horror that he can not use his mutant ability.

"Fuck!" And as a Ninja Turtle... his shell is not really useful to hide in. Or is it... he ducks down, and finds out that at least he can get his head down into the shell slightly.

And quivers there, hoping that the thing doesn't find him.

It was little surprise to see Loki so energetic. She liked entertaining, liked crowds, so was quite happily feeding off the good vibes of the shindig. Granted her bunny outfit complete with cute little cotton tail pinned on was more chosen with the idea of flustering a special someone, (Cricket, the poor sap) but that didn't stop her from chatting up patrons, getting drinks, and otherwise having herself a good time with how busy the bar was getting as the party got into full swing.

Or someone might find her after things went a littler weirder than she intended. Even if they might not realize the fuzzy black rabbit was Loki at first glance. Nope just another poor confused partygoer, trying really hard to make bunny paws work using a touchscreen phone- heey that's absolutely Loki's phone though!

If a flustered Cricket is what Loki wanted, she has succeeded magnificently! The first glance at her costume left him speechless for several seconds, and while he's been relatively subtle about it, he's been close to her all evening, either at her side, or a few steps behind, admiring her, um, cottontail.

He's chosen to dress in a costume that has meaning for him while still being almost antithetical to his natural gentle personality. The long coat makes his shoulders look broader and fills out his shape a little, the sleek waistcoat accentuates his waist, and the flat cap pulled over his eyes gives him an unusually rakish look. For all that, though, the pistol holstered at his hip is patently fake, and he moves with his usually stuttering gait...at least until the magic takes effect.

His attachment to Loki lingers, even through the mental alteration the costume has brought on, so once he discovers her by her phone, he settles in beside her and strokes the soft black fur with the air of a supervillain coddling a favorite pet.

News that the Nexus has its own version of the Festival of the Lost comes as a welcome surprise to Aegis-9. Why, she doesn't even have to change her outfit!

Her papercraft mask tied carefully onto her helmet, she strolls among the tables, picking up interesting snacks and collecting candy in a small bag at her hip. It's going so well, in fact, that she does not notice her mask has become somewhat more real until she speaks.

"Some party, isn't this?"

Behind her mask, she blinks, disconcerted at the feeling of having actual flesh and blood. An exploratory hand reaches up to touch her face, feeling the jagged broken horn on one side, and looks down at her hands. "This is amazing!" her voice booms, as it has in the Crucible so many times.

Astro had been wandering the food tables, eyeing the various drinks and things to eat as well as the candy. Now that he had somehow been changed into a human - he was excited to actually try eating. The hard part was trying to decide what to try first!

He was so intent in his perusing he didn't notice the taller figure standing at the table next to him until they suddenly boomed out in a loud voice.

Astro nearly jumped out of his shoes. He looked up with wide dark eyes at the intimidating armored figure in the horned helmet and grinned a little. "You referring to the party?" He ventured. "It is pretty wild isn't it?"

Trick or Treat!

When Ben Solo arrives at the party, he's wearing what looks like a 18th-century military uniform with a long dark cape, a collar, and a sharp cutlass.

When the magic hits, he looks the same as he did before, with one noticeable exception. He's headless. The black wooden horse has been replaced by a real one, a large stallion with glowing red eyes. For all intents and purposes, he stepped right out of Sleepy Hollow.

With his horse tied, he returns to the Viper's Pit to get a sense of the situation, relaxed as can be considering the circumstances. Play a game, see if he can find anybody he knows.

When he's had enough of that, it's back on the saddle and into the night. People may see him riding near the campfire, occasionally doing a stunt, or leading the horse on the outskirts of the corn maze. From the way he's riding, he's having the time of his life.

Galahad's seen the headless rider making his way around the grounds of the event (how could he not?) amongst all of the Halloween chaos. Having arrived on the tail end of when the magic hit, the banana costume-clad knight is still struggling to wrap his mind around what's happening. This is supposed to be a party, right? But now there are faerie creatures, monsters, and people who don't seem to be entirely in charge of their faculties everywhere. After Galahad gets separated from the Fallen that he arrived with, he mostly tries to keep to himself and the handful of candy he found somewhere along the way, doing what he can to be a pillar of polyester potassium-laden sanity as he takes in the sights and helps extract people from all of the chaos when they seem to need it.

Faeries and their associated creatures are figures of mischief and seemingly random cruelty, so the knight has been keeping his distance from (although also a watchful eye on) the figure galloping his way around the grounds. It's a complete accident, then, that he manages to bump into the Dullahan as he's exiting the corn maze. He's leading a shy and frightened-looking half-cat half-girl by the hand, and the moment he comes upon Ben the knight stumbles and ushers the small girl behind the safety of his legs and bulky banana costume.

"Stand back," Galahad instructs firmly, standing his ground. "Neither of us want any mischief here tonight, faerie."

The Family Soundwave has arrived via holomatter avatar.

Soundwave himself seems not to have grasped the whole 'costume' idea, though Ravage will tell anyone who asks that that's his Prince, thank you very much.

Ravage coming as a catboy and Laserbeak coming as a magpie are making a bit more of an attempt, although they're still...basically themselves.

But these are their human costumes. For certain values of human.

And when the magic hits...

They're, well...humans, or at least a close facsimile thereof. And they have no idea how to be.

The first thing that LB does when she realises that she is human is to go and investigate all the Forbidden Snacks.

Transformers do not eat human food, particularly not stripped-down models like condorlights that only have enough of a digestive system to process energon and basic minerals, but Laserbeak adores robot candy of every variety and has made the attempt.

Much to her sorrow.

Now she can go and eat all of the things, and that is exactly what she is going to do.

skekSa looks different. Her plumage is the same blue color, but the scarlet longcoat and tricorn hat have been swapped out for black armor and a plumed helmet. Her teeth and talons remain as sharp as ever, and the cutlass at her side has been replaced by a mean-looking flail. She doesn't look displeased with her transformation, though the outfit is a little uncouth.

"How would you say this looks? I wouldn't mind wearing this for the night, though I don't think I could stand more than that." She hopes she doesn't look too much like the General. The idea of being compared to that oaf skekVar makes her feathers itch.

At least whatever she turned into looks reasonably like a skeksis. More feathers, sharper claws on the hands and feet, and the look of a creature that's very used to doing its own fighting.

Out of the dark a truly gigantic bird comes walking in her drection. As it gets closer it is easier to see it's a big black vulture. Someone who knew their prehistoric animals might think Argentavis magnificens which was the shape the angel took.

He was not perturbed by much and certainly not spending time as a bird. He trots, sort of ungainly, toward the smell of feathers which is comforting in this form. Though his form has changed the blindness has not and he is only guessing at what he is approaching.

There's something moving in the depths of the haunted house. The Indoraptor has transformed into an animated dinosaur skeleton, moving on its own accord. You can see him crouching in the shadows, creeping, moonlight glistening on his scales. This is the environment he's used to, from both Lockwood Manor and his adventure in the Grand Library.

While he isn't trying to harm anyone, he certainly isn't above giving people a good old-fashioned scare. So anyone who wanders near him unawares will be startled by the noise of a roaring dinosaur, or a claw playfully tapping them on the shoulder.

However, he'll also show a softer side to people he knows well.

Indo certainly hadn't come to the party alone. Maisie had been the one to explain the idea of a Halloween party, had happily helped her friend decide what he wanted to be and get him all painted up to look like a skeleton.

And she herself had found a black hoodie to alter, giving it a nice set of spiny protrusions along the head and down the back, painting on eyes and a nice golden stripe down the sides. Clawed gloves and a tail, facepaint and fake sharp teeth made the costume complete, and she was quite pleased with herself. Spending time playing in the maze and haunted house with her companion, at least before the strange magic happened.

Indo might notice that Maisie was nowhere to be seen but he'd certainly hear the familiar sound of a confused dinosaur in one of the other rooms, a skitter of feet and a rather resounding thump followed by an annoyed, younger-sounding scraw of annoyance.

Maisie was discovering that balancing as a dinosaur? Was a lot different than balancing as a person!

Definitely a Treat... and sometimes trick

At the start of the Halloween party, one Harley Quinn was bouncing around and socializing with anyone that she knew. Or just making new friends by meeting people she didn't know. She had an bag full of stickers (many of which were left behind on a person, even if they didn't realize it at the time). And was full of Halloween joy.

Then the magic happened. And Harley transformed into a real Sailor Senshi of Love. Her pet hyena, Bruce, who was at her side at the time also transformed into a cute adaptation.

"I am Sailor Quinn! Champion of Justice! Defender of the light!" And she is completely convinced that this is who she is now. "Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, who needs my help?"

Ravage eventually decided that he wanted to meet the hyena, and brought over some bits of meat to offer as treats (and was surprised that he actually ended up wanting to take a bite of the meat himself).

But something about Harley herself kept drawing his attention, and after spending a little time fussing over Bruce, he stood up and cocked his head to one side, removing a brooch from his choker.

"I don't know why...but I feel compelled to give you jewellery? Maybe it'll do something...fun? This is weird."

Treat - Halloween Ziggy? Jack Stardust?

Weeks ago when Hiroki had introduced them they got it in their mind to play a trick on their partners and dress alike. So they were in Ziggy's striped outfit, Jack's eye patch, scarf and hat, and Ziggy's make up in an attempt to mess with their respective partners.

They were laughing as they walked into the bar for drinks but the laughter soon stopped as they took seats. The two blinked at each other in confusion as memories and abilities just merged together into some off amalgamation. It left two twins, literally. Even they had a hard time coming to terms with which one was Ziggy Stardust and which one was Halloween Jack. Even Diamond, Jack's white greyhound, barked in confusion at whatever was happening. If they needed a drink before, now.. now they really needed one.

[There are ways to tell Ziggy and Jack apart if you know what to look for. For most people... yeah.. they are exactly the same right now.]

Minoru did a double take as he flew by the bar on his broom. Literally, in that there were definitely two Ziggys sitting there. He spun the thing around and flipped backwards off of it.

“...oh no. Are they spiking the punch with polyjuice potion now?!”

The Uchiwa brothers arrived at the party decked out in Hogwarts-style robes and uniforms befitting of the houses that suited them best. Isamu was a brainiac Ravenclaw, naturally. Minoru was a somewhat unconventional Slytherin, but he had his butterball python around his neck as a mascot, and gosh was it cute.

As the night wore on, though, better hold onto your butterbeer...

With a pulse of magic that rivaled anything he read in An Advanced Guide to Transfiguration, he was now obsessed with sorting out the mass transfiguration spell that just took place. Maybe a patronus would help! This has got to be worth extra credit on both the Transfiguration and the Defense Against the Dark Arts O.W.L. Right?

Minoru, on the other hand, was now talking to his pet python in Parseltongue, flying around doing parkour tricks on his broom and handing out chocolate frogs so that everyone could make magical smores - as one does. Who says Slytherins are always the bad guys?

The python around the neck was definitely a draw for Loki to migrate towards the twin who associated with the snake. If the god was within a Hogwarts house then surely he'd be in Slytherin also. Dressed in his wolf gothic outfit he offered Minoru a curious smile.

"You have a beautiful specimen there. Does it have a name?"

Holding a glass of wine, he sipped it whilst keeping his eye on the snake wrapped around the young man's neck. The broomstick was also a novelty and Loki wondered just how powerful his magic was. Perhaps some mischief could be achieved on this night since he wasn't about to pass it off without doing something.

Moloch had been tricked into coming out by Sin who had put rabbit ears on his head despite all protest and even threats. He was in an absolutely foul mood when she pushed him into the bar. He instantly turned into a small white rabbit. The rabbit though turned on the closest person and bit them.

It starts running around biting everyone. It wasn't causing damage though the people being bitten seemed to notice the rabbit suddenly hanging on them. The lack of damage drove Moloch into a horrible frenzy and the rabbit just acted more and more rabid.

[OOC: AVF in effect but if you respond you agree to a damageless bite, rabbit flying at your face, chasing you relentlessly forever. Moloch is now the Rabbit of Caerbannog. RUNAWAY!!!]

Revelers of the Viper's Pit! Are you ready to be entertained? Because a magician has arrived -- not just any magician, but the amazing Mister Fell! And his lovely assistant, Crowley!

The angel has dusted off his magician's costume and brought his top hat and wand, along with plenty of scarves, cards, and other tricks hidden about his person. His costume is not merely for show as he intends to perform all those tricks, much to Crowley's dismay.

The only trick he can't perform is pulling a rabbit out of his hat, seeing as how he doesn't have one. What a shame!

When the magic hits, the angel's sleight-of-hand will dramatically improve, much to his astonishment and delight. And any small and cute animals at the party might want to be careful, lest they become part of Mr. Fell's act!

Of course, any party hosted by Loki will be attended by Cricket. No one should be surprised to see him there, mingling happily and serving up snacks and drinks whenever the waiters need an extra hand. For the most part, his eye is on Loki--which makes sense, because her outfit is very eye-catching--but he's his usually quietly upbeat and friendly self for the first part of the evening. His costume seems like it might be a kind of wry joke based on his own history with bootleggers, given that it's the pseudo-uniform of an organized crime family--but one from across the pond.

There is something about it that really suits Cricket, though. The layers bulk up his silhouette nicely, the tailored cut and clean lines echo the angle of his cheekbones and jaw, and the blue of the silk tie sets off his eyes. There does not appear to be a razorblade in the bill of the flat cap, fortunately. He's not convinced that kind of augmentation would do anything but shear off someone's eyebrow by accident.

After the ripple of magic goes through the party, there's a subtle but visible change in him. The usual clank of leg braces is gone when he walks, and his stride is easier and more confident. The look in his eyes is colder and sharper than usual; analytical and alert. His smiles have an extra flash of teeth in them. And the fake weapons that he carried as part of his costume look alarmingly convincing.

((AVF, obviously, but he's got a revolver and a tommy gun and could probably make an awful lot of noise with them!))

There's a rattle of weapons and the click of claws as Cricket is approached by an enormous bird. skekSa recognizes the fiercer look and nods approvingly. She approves of mettle, whichever form it takes. She hasn't seen Cricket before, but she knew the name and what he sold. Magic or not, she likes this new look that the young man carries. It's just a little bit enough to set someone on edge. Confidence looks good on him.

"You're Cricket Pate." The transformed skeksis offers a clawed hand. "I've heard a lot about you, but I can't say we've met. I am Captain skekSa. I run the Scarlet Hooyim downtown." She doesn't look that different, at least, and she would have blown a gasket if the color of her feathers had changed.

Truth be told, Hunter had not intended to come to any Halloween party being hosted in the Nexus. Not after last time...

But he was a little restless. And he had finished the most recent studies from the Starfleet Academy. Plus he had figured that getting back into the Nexus, where he has made some good friends, would be a great way to help him forget the fact that Jim was still on his Space Exploration.

Hunter had chosen a Pharoah costume, mostly because it allowed him to show off more of the tattoo that covered his entire body. The thorn-themed tattoo weaved up his arms, and connected to a heart-shaped thorn maze that was around his heart, and then other thorns separated to curve down his body. In this costume one could see it on his bare legs too.

He had been mostly keeping to himself, when the magic hit. And there seemed to be a bit more confidence to Hunter, as he strolled around the party. He found a large chair, where he could sit, and rule over those around him. "برينج م وإن!"

Hopefully someone around here understands Arabic.

It was the costume that attracted her attention from where she lounged on the bar. A familiar look that begged for attention. Jumping down she trotted over to the man now sitting in a chair as if he owned the place.

What comes before him is a pony sized sphinx ivory skinned human parts and sandy colored lion parts with 4 large white wings. She does know Arabic and responds in kind.

"That was years ago, that I was cut down at the edge of the wood, removed from my stem. Strong foes seized me there, then worked me into a spectacle for themselves, bid me raise up their criminals."

The Piranha Plant, thanks to the wave of magic and the Audrey II costume it wears, can talk now!

And, more importantly, sing. Pretty well for vegetation, too.

So anybody who goes up to it is likely to be serenaded. Thankfully, no one's in any danger from this green mother from outer space, but the Plant's gleefully using this opportunity to put on a show for anybody who cares to listen.

Cookie sees Pirahna Plant and offers him a wave with his free hand. The other clutching onto his Halloween-themed bowl which was sadly lacking cookies at the moment. Perhaps both could find some together. There must be cookies here surely! It was a party.

"Hello, big teeth plant friend. Are dere cookies here? We should find some. Mhm. Yes."

Dressed in his gingerbread costume, Cookie felt a little out of place but didn't really care since there were friends here!

Of late Lucifer was becoming more and more comfortable venturing out in his feminine form. With some prodding from the other angels Lucifer came to the party feminine and dressed as a woman she adored, Hatsheput. The magic of the night had other ideas. Blame it on her alignment with the lion form that came into play in the whirling chaotic effects.

It left Lucifer as a sandy colored sphinx with white wings, costume barely changed except her back half was a lion now. She hopped up on the bar and laid there regal as could be waiting. Though Lucifer remembered who she was a compulsion to ask riddles and prying questions left her barely able to hold her tongue when anyone came near.

She's still semi of two minds right now. (but then when was that anything new?) As she's carefully padding about. Curious and also trying to figure how what was going on. Aal tosses her head and little and it blowing gently at her hair as she tries to fit the blue ribbon atop of her head. She still semi had some dark hair mixed with the blonde the former she was trying to tuck into place.

"Hatter?" She asks softly, glancing about..Now where did he?

"Ello Alice." can a fmailar but low purr as her top hat wearing friend came seemingly out of nowwhere with a steaming teapot and some cups and saucers.

She couldn't help the slight grin, as worry eased to fond bemusement. "Oh thank goodness.." Her blue eyes soften. "I thought I lost you."

Blonde brows quirk up, "You'll never lose me..So long as you hold Wonderland in your heart. " He replies tenderly.
Before perking up and remarking. "Say.. That beastie up ahead..Isn't a Chesrishr is it?" He asks with a slight tilt of his head before bringing his cup to his lips.

Aal squints slightly, "It doesn't look like any I've seen before.." She murmurs, Cheshire leastwise, though it reminded her of..something..else and then shots him a sideways grin. "Shall we go introduce ourselves?" She murmurs.

He beams and offers his hand toward hers to gently grasp it and tenderly bring to his lips for a kiss. "We shall."

Before grinning and turning toward the creature as they walk toward it. "Hullo there. "

Aal had been debating exactly which sort of costume she was in the mood for. Even before asking Dor what he might fancy. Though whatever she didn't pick from that she had on hand etc. She supposed they maybe could do some small event /get together back in StoryBrooke or elsewhere.

Certain there was likely to be a few events and such going on. One way or another. Lords knew they didn't currently have the space in the Nexus as of yet.

Even now she was semi torn tween Dorthy and Alice. Hense she had a white apron half hanging out one of her baskets. As they headed toward the party.

Dor's half watching his beloved wife and mate partly bemused part in thought. As they both catch the scent of the bonfires first. Their ears perking up. As he twirls the top hat of the 'Mad Hatter' in between his hands and gets a gleam in his eyes as he glances between any potential log he could perhaps help split and the silvery ax in the wagon.

She had been toying with the idea of perhaps the White Knight as well..But thought to save the more akin to his usual self Costume/character for another day.

Minoru looked up from where he was sitting on the log. He was roasting a marshmallow in mid air with a magic wand (because no self-respecting wizard was going to put that kind of stick literally in the fire). Noticing a familiar face, he held up a small package in her direction.

“Chocolate frog?”

When Cookie finally arrives to the Halloween party he isn't looking like his usual bright blue self but instead is dressed up as a gingerbread man. Or monster to be more precise. He's come equipped with a large spooky-looking bowl covered in bats and grinning pumpkins so he can collect cookies in it. Hey, he didn't want to come empty handed now, did he?

"Cookies? Are dere cookies here at dis party?"

As for a trick? Possibly stealing cookies from other people could happen.

“Of course! We’re making s’mores. Come join!” Minoru grinned, and motioned the giant cookie over.

True to his costume, he held up a couple of individually-wrapped chocolate frogs straight out of Honeydukes. If this was early in the night before the magic took place, Minoru has a stick for roasting marshmallows. If later, that stick was a magic wand levitating a marshmallow in the bonfire.

“Chocolate frog for your graham crackers?”

Balthazar couldn't turn down the invite to a Halloween party because it was a party for one thing and as for the time of year? It was the reign of the supernatural and angels fell into that category somewhere along the line. So, in strolls one angel who isn't quite dressed in the same t-shirt, jeans and jacket combo as he usually is, but instead is dressed as a rocker of some kind.

The era of his costume is late Seventies, early Eighties and his bare chest will no doubt cause some to stare. The cool October weather not affecting the angel at all due to his high constitution and ability to weather the cold air. His spiked collar temporarily replacing the diamond one Jack had given him as a gift just for this night. His leather pants and studded belt giving off the aura of a man who might just cause some trouble tonight.

"Trick or Treat, darlings."

Balthazar grinned as he suddenly unfurled his wings walking towards the mass gatherings of people, wondering if it would raise any stares or not. Of course, this wasn't his true trick. Oh no. That would be in the form of him teleporting around possibly offering to spike people's drinks with angel booze. He'll call it magic potion. Why yes, he managed to procure some of Beelzebub's prior to attending the party. Mind you, it'll only be a tiny amount, enough to make the drinker tipsy and jolly at the most.

[ooc: don't worry, he'll only spike drinks which are already containing alcohol and for people he's asked first. For the drinkers among the party. The non-alcoholic drinks will just be spiked with a different coloured juice of sorts. As for his puppy, Onyx, he's at home snoozing away.]

The Slythein Seeker was wandering around with the party's equivalent of butterbeer when he spotted the winged rocker offering what he called a ‘magic potion’ to another patron. He wasn’t even trying to be discreet.

“Ooh, is that an Elixir to Induce Euphoria?” he asked, gesturing with his glass.

The lure of his counterpart's party had piqued Loki's interest as he was now entering the Viper's Pit dressed in a rather ornate wolf costume. The mask was as close to silver as he could get. If most saw it then they would see that it would not appear out of place at a masked ball. The main costume being a black gothic long coat with straps and leather cuffs and trim. Black boots are included in the ensemble. If anyone happens to approach Loki then he will glance through the eyeholes of his mask, offering them up a stare before deciding whether or not to perform his trick.

That being he will turn into a large black raven with bright green eyes. No doubt he will be flying around the guests, possibly landing unknowingly upon a few shoulders, stealing pieces of food and flying off with them. He'll also be offering a magic display of green and gold shimmering light behind him when he performs one of his aerial displays. Is he a show off? Of course he is.

"Well met, Loki." Ben's dismounted his horse for a while, and despite his current predicament he's clearly been enjoying himself. "I had to figure things would get interesting with one of your counterparts involved. That's an interesting outfit you have there."

He has to admit he likes the gothic outfit Loki's wearing - his is more practical and less ornate, as a military uniform, but he couldn't help showing off a little. He's talking to a Loki on Halloween, too - he eagerly anticipates some kind of trick. As somebody who's on good terms with many of the Nexus Lokis, he knows what to expect at this point.

Trick or Treat

Deet honestly has no idea what Halloween is, and has been too afraid to ask. She's seen the decorations go up and the costumes on sale, but she doesn't keep much in the way of money, and she certainly doesn't spend much of what she has, so it's all been nice to watch from a distance, but of limited interest.

Still, she knows a lot of the angels will be attending this party, and that's reason enough for her to at least peek in. Unsure what to wear, she simply shows up in a silk dress Alex designed for her for daily wear, and a little crown woven of glow-moss and iridescent beetle's wings. She always wears the cloak Thnisko gave her, though, and it's even more essential now that the weather is cold.

Her breath steams in the air as she wanders the wooded paths and the fields around the bonfires. It's not until people begin changing that she starts feeling strange. It feels like being a string on a kite, she thinks, except the string is her body and the kite is something so far beyond the physical she has no name for it. She feels like if she looked up into the night sky, she could see herself spread across it like purple lightning. It must be the Darkening doing something, she assumes, and hastily tries to withdraw from the more populated areas in the gathering, afraid of hurting someone accidentally.

When she moves, though, she becomes aware that her wings are bigger, heavier and darker. Stretching them out, she can see the cloak itself has fused with them, making them immense, elegant sculpted forms of inky feathers and diaphenous purple panes, like living stained glass. The purple glows. So does her skin, luminous in the dark, between blue and violet.

Well, she didn't mean to cosplay as Death, but the magic of the evening seems to have made an aesthetic decision without her input, blending some part of her with her dearest friend's power and influence.

"You know," Ben says to Deet as he approaches, "that's a good look on you." He looks darker than he usually does himself, with the sweeping black cape and the fact that his head is missing, leaving only an empty space. The only light comes from the reflection off his gold belt buckle and the cutlass at his side. He's admiring Deet's wings and cloak.

He's leading his horse along behind, the creature obeying him more by magic than by any command. Even he would be more unsettled by it if it didn't make his job much easier. Magic in general makes things easier for him tonight. Riding comes much more naturally than it otherwise might for someone with limited experience, and there's a wildness he feels even more strongly than he did in the Viper's Pit.

"I was going out for a bit of a ride, seeing as I was magicked up a horse. May as well take advantage of that. But I had to compliment you on the way you're dressed. It's beautiful."

Could go either way.

It was Sin's night it seemed for prodding angels out into the open that never went to parties. It had taken a lot to get Death out, in fact she had to research world mythology and prod at him incessantly with different things until he finally relented. She dressed him as a Kääbas, the Baltic death spirit that protected graves and was known to be associated with dead and dying trees. He was in a modified death shroud sewn with blackened branches into the collar and other places that almost looked like he bore antlers from the front. Some make up to exaggerate his face into something more deathly and she had led him into the bar.

He took to the yard and mazes away from the people and that is when it had happened. No one told him there would be magic but by the time he sensed it, it was too late. Kääbas was often considered a member of the dark fae realm and as a fae small. It shrunk him down until his six foot stature was rather diminutive. Oddly, aside from some vague notions Death had no sense that he had changed that drastically. Without the visual cues to see that the world appeared much larger it was very hard to tell.

[OOC: Death can be a kind spirit talking about the dead and comforting those who have recently lost others or be a terrifying spirit that chases and scares those who get to close much like a banshee. I will assume he is kindly unless someone asks for him to be otherwise.]

It's possible she senses him, or he senses her, or some invisible bond tugs them gently closer together. Deet has been in the woods, but upon discovering she's not harming anything and the Darkening isn't out of her control--if anything, it's calmer and more controlled now--she took to one of the mazes, curious about what sort of game it is. The walls are mostly living corn, with bundled up dried stalks here and there, decorations and little electric lights that she doesn't need to guide her own way. It reminds her a little of the caves.

When she rounds a corner, she sees a dark, branching silhouette, and despite the costume she recognizes him at once. "I knew you'd be here," she calls out to him, approaching with a flutter of wings that sounds very different from her usual. Her voice is unmistakable, though, and if her presence seems bigger than normal, she is still very much Deet.

It's not until she gets close that she realizes how much closer their heights have become. "...Thnisko? A-are you all right?"

Because that's abnormal, and she's positive if he could do that voluntarily, he'd have done it before now, if only to keep from hitting his head on the ceiling of her cavern.

Treat - Mammon and Astaroth

It wasn't a costume per say that either of the angels came in rather an over abundance of beautiful things. Mammon in a ocean blue suit embroidered with gold and draped in pearl jewelry. Astaroth in blues and purples with pearls and sapphires, both in crowns. They had managed to get drinks and sat out back when the magic hit.

It must have been the colors and all the pearls that the magics interpreted in its own way. It left two winged merfolk in the seats out back sipping wine. It startled the two at first but then they settled in beside the warm fire, fins flicking as they spoke. Astaroth's hair long and the fins deep blue glittering like the starry sky and Mammon's golden tail and crown leaving him to look more like Triton or Poseidon.

Trick

Maybe the magic had gotten to her earlier but she had been feeling mischievous all day. Maybe it was because she put on her costume first thing in the morning and taunted her father with a beautiful golden apple she had picked in his gardens. Whatever it was Sin wanted to cause havoc; small mischief and potentially large scale problems.

She was dressed beautifully of course and had a small basket with shiny, near metallic gold apples. Woe be to any who approach, or especially ask for one of the treats. Though Sin remembers who she is, currently she is possessed by the motivations of Eris, goddess of discord and strife.

It's been a while since Galahad's spoken to Sin, despite as much time as he spends in and out of the villa and among the Fallen. They got along well the last time they met, though, so absent being able to find any of his other friends, Galahad wants to check in with her.

The banana-knight does feel a little silly as he approaches the princess in her impressive and graceful costume while clad in his own large, foamy banana one, but that much can't be helped. He comes up next to Amartolósa with a smile and a handful of candy in tow, unwrapping a piece as he greets her. (Just because the party's gotten a bit chaotic doesn't mean there can't be candy.)

"Ho, Sin." There's just. a bit of a hesitation as the knight studies the angel for a moment, trying to discern if she has her mind or if she's another element of the chaos unfolding all around. "Is all well? You look lovely tonight." His gaze falls curiously to the golden apples she's carrying. Are they... real?
